so...me and my fam used to have this pretty black and white cat whose tail i used to pull when i was little. she's long gone now, i do miss her. but now years later we got a Russian Blue cat, and about a few days in, for some reason, seeing him triggered some emotions within me about how i used to pull the other cat's tail. i cried because i felt bad about doing it. but yeah, i don't ever wanna hurt the cutie on purpose. i love him.
The spinal cord of a cat ends in the lumbar vertebrae. A cat's tail is formed by the caudal vertebrae, which comes after the lumbar vertebrae and pelvis. If your cat injures their tail it's unlikely to cause paralysis in other parts of their body, however, local damage to the peripheral nerves within the tail can cause parts of the tail to become paralyzed or generally not function correctly.
My cat demanded that his tail be pulled. He even asked of a visitor. (turned around, backed up, raised his tail, wiggled it) Our visitor though that he was going to spray, but I suggested a gentle vertical tail tug. The cat then turned half around, mewed and pranced happily off.
@@Stopnormalizingviolencedo you know their cat. Didn’t think so. You don’t know everything and by what they were saying the cat wanted their tail pulled
It's like when people like having their back cracked or a lil stretch!! Assisted stretching isn't "pulling" it's more holding gently as the cat extends and slides
Lol yeah but not yanking the shit out of her tail; I feel like this is for the assholes that think “moving” a cat by their tail is okay and “totally doesn’t hurt them” (I’ve unfortunately met people like this.. 😢)
I was trying to get my computer back from my brother, and then he said, "I'm going to make Jasper angry and will scratch you!" Jasper is one of our cats. Just then, when i looked back, my brother was now pulling on the cat's tail. I got terrified because of this short i watched. I tried to confront him by telling him not to pull on it, but he refused. Jasper is okay and fine now, but my little brother is now in timeout!
I had a cat that I would be gentle and I would pick her up by her tail gently again I say gently and pick her up by her tail and kiss her on her nose from time she was a kitten and I done it until she was full grown and she had the most active tail it was strong and long so long and she would come and wrap her tail around my hand waiting for me to pick her up and kiss her on the nose she was the most loving and friendly cat and had great control of her tail just don't yank a cat's tail that is not nice
Well when my neighbours cat used to get in (all the time, mum’s severely allergic, and it would go behind her seat and scratch her nice chair that her mum left her before she died, and for a while she has to not sit in it because otherwise she gets severe asthma from the cat hair stuck in the chair, so we can’t even leave our doors open when it’s hot) we would grab it’s tail because it was the only thing on show when it hid behind our sofas and we would just fling it out by throwing by its tail. It stopped coming back inside eventually hopefully we scared it off but it would sprint off and meow loads as soon as we grabbed it so would have to be super quick but never felt and bones break and it ran off very quickly after so it was fine luckily a neighbour ran it over so now we can actually leave our doors open so my mum can get cool air in, we were thinking of moving her but it was going to cost too much, all because of a stupid cat that thought it was okay to come into our property, we now have a few cats that try and get near but have a hose that goes off and gets them absolutely soaking wet and generally they don’t come back after but if we ever need to throw it back to the neighbours always use the tail as they scratch you if you grab anywhere else
When I was younger we had an elderly cat called Ginger and he'd broken his tail at some point so he couldn't feel anything in the end of it. We also had a fireplace/heater that you could burn yourself on if you touched and because he loved the warmth he'd walk up against it and not realise he was sticking his tail right in the heater and he almost set it on fire once, it did get singed a few times especially in the winter
So my cat loves his tail being pulled. He likes it so much he tries to dig into the rug because his claws won't hold on the floor, but joke's on him, the rug just slides on the floor.
@@angelwings7930 Also, I can just say "claws" to my cat and he'll retract his claws, when he's purring and snuggling on my shoulder. He never stops, sometimes even gives an extra apology nudge.
For me I should probably stop the way I pet my cat being once I give a final pet I wrap their tail around my finger just like a girl wrapping their hair around their
Whenever I pet a kitty’s tail, I make sure to be gentle with them
Those eyes ! 😍
❤️❤️❤️
Gorgeous ❤️
Sadly, cats with the prettiest eyes also seem to be the most susceptible to early blindness.

Hello, so polite to her cat 🐈

The word "Because it's mean" doesn't make everyone not do it. Explaining a sentence will make everyone not do it.

Good information. Thanks for letting me know. 😊
Omg love she looks almost exactly the same as my kitty :)
Cause it's fucking mean just like pulling on my hands!! It's a basic decency thing, and basic decency goes to everything.
When i was 4, i pulled my cats tail. I very regret it. I deserved that scratch of my foot
my 2 cousins pull my cats tail and sometimes i forget that they are just toddlers 😭 So i just protect her by staying by her side❤
Sad that this video is necessary, no one beyond a very small child who hasn’t yet been taught not to should pull or yank on a cat’s tail 😭

Cats with bobtail: i don't see how's that my problem
You got a adorable cat
But scratching their tail gently? Different story. They go nuts over that
