On the initiative of the Federal Government , Anitápolis was founded to welcome European immigrants in 1906 . Was the scene of historical fact known as "Fighting Throat " last battle of the Revolution of 1930 in Santa Catarina , which occurred in the only road linking the southern with the capital of Santa Catarina Brazil , the call of the Gorge Road .
With an economy based on agricultural production , Anitápolis is known as " Paradise Rivers and Waterfalls " by the exuberance of its water and natural resources . Besides the natural beauty , also offers other attractions such as the location of the " Battle of the Gorge " ; the old hydroelectric plant built in 1910 to provide electric power for the city ; the architecture ; General Serra ; groups of music and dance ; the parish church and several parties , especially: the Feast of the Patron Saint Sebastian on January 20 , the Evangelical Party in mid-May , the Festa Julina in mid-July and the feast of the Colonist in November.

Por iniciativa do Governo Federal, Anitápolis foi fundada para acolher imigrantes europeus em 1906. Foi palco do fato histórico conhecido como "Combate da Garganta", última batalha da Revolução de 1930 em território catarinense, que se deu na única estrada que ligava o sul do Brasil com a capital catarinense, a chamada Estrada da Garganta.
Com uma economia baseada na produção agrícola, Anitápolis é conhecida como "Paraíso de Rios e Cascatas" pela exuberância dos seus recursos hídricos e naturais. Além das belezas naturais, também oferece outros atrativos como o local do "Combate da Garganta"; a antiga usina hidrelétrica construída em 1910 para fornecer energia elétrica para o município; a arquitetura; a Serra Geral; os grupos de música e dança; a igreja matriz e várias festas, com destaque para: a Festa do Padroeiro São Sebastião em 20 de janeiro, a Festa Evangélica em meados de maio, a Festa Julina em meados de julho e a festa do Colono em novembro.
