    HELLO,
    YOU ARE RIGHT! The damned ABC filter has never been changed, what a shame for the owner AND the mecanics.
    How can they mistreat such a beautiful car that way? Go figure.
    ABC has to be flushed (10 liters) every 2 years with filter change.
    The 4 spheres are also due to replacement every 10 years, their membrane desintegrate and release debris that kill the system. Beware!
    You have a fantastic car, don't listen to stupid people reluctant to maintain their car properly,
    do the right thing and enjoy.😀
    Take care,
    A Belgian retired mechanic in VIETNAM 🙏

    I'm not sure if you're bragging or complaining. These cars cost around $90K new. Did you really think it was gonna be cheap to maintain or restore??

    Just picked a cl500 up today with 120k miles, has a squeak over bumps but overall for the price I got it for, it was a no brainer.

      Hi! Milage is nothing, they just keep going! Spray all the bushes with a silicone based lube! My jeep did the squeak thing, just a dry bush or two!!!

      I would worry about rust. Expect about 100 a month for repairs. You may go months without a problem then bam, a 1200 problem. I'm in the process of replacing my shocks, I took the front 2 off my parts car already. Super easy to do.

    • @terrystratford1235

      @@shanewhaler I understand the shocks can be rebuilt for about 400 each! Better than buying new at 1500! Rust, agghhhhh mechanics nightmare!! For me, a 5 grand car is not worth throwing £ at! I'd maintain it, service it, but if a 3k bill was due I'd probably cut my losses and buy another toy!

      That my friend is on my to do list as well. Mine works but the shade is broken and some rubber is ripped. I still haven't made time to get a hold of emanuals.com so I can't help much. I would suggest looking at other types of sunroof repair videos. I bet they are all basically the same. I'm about to replace my left front strut in the next couple days. Having a decent parts car has been paying off big.

    • @shanewhaler
      @shanewhaler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as the a/c, I believe the removal is fairly simple, just be careful and don't force anything. Then I would take it to a pro to have the refrigerant properly put in.

    • @shanewhaler
      @shanewhaler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was just thinking, does the sunroof have power? Did it stop working suddenly or over time? Could be the switch, motor, gears, fuse, front sam, relay or jammed.

      @@shanewhaler lol! What's the point in earnings £ if u don't spend it!? A good well serviced CL is a bargin! I do a free mot history check. I'm finding alot with fails (mainly tyres and ball joints) then the work is done! That tells me 2 things, 1 there driven hard and expected to fail an mot and the owner doesn't think it's worth fixing! What I'm lookin for is one that is fixed as and when needed and an mot is just something that has to be done! Avoid anything less than 5 grand, 6k will get a good one! 10 grand is too much when u could get a Bently continental Gt for that!! My mind is made, I will get one maybe next year! But while my old jeep is good, I'm happy driving that!
