Keeping in mind that the new BIOS update and windows 10 upgrade has fixed the throttling ( to some extent ofc ) , i would like to ask after that upgrade and fixing by Asus : Should i go for This laptop ( core i5 model w/ 1050ti ) or MSI GL63-8RC ( core i5 w/ 1050 ) ?

The LED thing they did is actually great.
I have my laptop plugged in overnight and the status LED´s are quite strong when im going to sleep. I have to have the laptop facing away from me in order to sleep. :)

Hi Chris. Would you consider reviewing good value chinese pc accessories such as mice, keyboards, anything else of general use you find interesting? There are very few to no good content producers to do this and they just review stuff off of amazon. I think it would make financial sense since you could do round up vids and leave multiple affiliate links that way, not to mention lots of views. Love your content Chris, all the best to you.
My interest in those type of products is very limited as I have my keyboard and mouse no need to buy more. Not to buy jsut for a review etc. So I doubt you'll see one.

Regarding Linux, you might want to try to boot using the USB 2.0 port. If it works, then ASUS didn't implement the full USB 3.0 in the BIOS.
Also, there has been few UEFI changes for the Coffee Lake, so you might want to try to use Fedora 28 Live.

No, not very accurate. So not good for color grading etc. I will use a 100% sRGB 1440p monitor I have however for that.

I'm Spanish and the US layout makes far more sense than the Spanish one. The layout puts keys on sensible places, like the @ (why on all accounts is on a second modifier key, I use it far more than the ñ which gets it's own key) or \ for directory input on Windows. Maybe I'm the strange one, but yeah, I'm with you on they keyboard.

That is not an asshole response. An asshole response would be more in the line of "how about you check an "English 1,2,3" course before trying to correct someone" (and it would be still a valid point since it is the most basic of sentences mind you) I only pointed how you were completely wrong, and how pedantic you worded your response. Nothing more, nothing less, and it is verifiable since I did not delete my comment.
A non pedantic response could be: "Shouldn't that be Spaniard due to x y and z?" Or even "That isn't right, it should be Spaniard for x, y and z" But for that you need to back up what you say with arguments, and prove you are not full of it, contrary to what you used. However that is expecting too much from a feeble mind that has certain preconceived notions about people that he doesn't know.

It's alright though! Higher end mobile CPU's have been 4 cores for so long now lol.
I almost get fooled buying this one, but fortunately I realize how bad the screen, battery, wireless chip and all other small but important details. I ended up buying GL503VD which is last year, but has a lot of better stuffs inside.
I think I should have gone for the GL63, 6 cooper cooling transfer pipes. Double the Fx504
Thermal management wise, indeed GL63 is way better, but battery life is worse.
I think I'll have to sell this and get that one. I don't mind the 41Wh battery as I use these kind of laptops on pwoer always as on Battery they run much so slower.
Alternatively, GL503GE is a fusion of FX504 and my GL503VD, all the goods from both.
Yes I was looking at that one. What I like about the FX504 is the solid keyboard and build. Very good. But I like the MSI cooling 6 cooper transfer pipes and 20mm thick copper plate on the CPU, and most importantly you have custom fan control, that's possible on the MSI's GL63 and the GL62M I have I can even set the fan to off or like 15% when it's not doing something demanding and that makes it completely slient. The fans in the FX504 are kinda loud almost Mi Gaming Laptop level when gaming.

Yes, but for me, the local one has a Spanish keyboard. Or the UK keyboard. But I got this one as they gave me a discount off the unit to review it as mentioned at the start.

Well, Asus solved that in the new bios update, i will buy this laptop in a few days, based on that info, i just want a pc with power enough to play some games like Fifa, WoW and etc.

Yes, I'm happy it's not the 120hz, better viewing angles with the IPS and let's face it the 1050 Ti will not play modern titles on high ultra at 120 fps.

Sorry, but shelling out over 1000 EUR for this Chiiiina version is not justified in my opinion.
No and even if it was the US version so far in my testing thermal and power throttling I've showed towards the end of the video is an issue. Only two copper transfer pipes I feel the cooling isn't up to the job. I should have got for the MSI GL63 I was originally looking at with 6 cooling pipes. But I got a discount on this one that made it cheaper so took the risk.
Maybe a thermal modding is in place :)
