Nice review Garry. I have a 700R and the Vac Mini, a 580 ALR, and the Diamond mini (sensing a theme here? 😂). I also have an Eco, and the Swipe. They are all nice pens. One thing you should know, the Swipe has a clip that really hugs the pen and is essentially useless. Those who have tried to use it have broken the cap. The one I don't have is the GO. I didn't bother with that one since the Swipe comes with a converter that uses the spring vacuum fill system. For me, the latest to arrive were a vintage Parker 21, and a Fine Point Black nib to swap nibs on my Lamy Studio.
I have had all three models but now only the Eco remains. It is a fun pen to use. My only quibble is that the section is not removable for maintenance of the pen. You have to use a blunt nose syringe to clean the barrel or remove the piston completely. The nib on the 580 should be the same size as the Vac700R. It looks puny. I may reconsider rebuying the Vac700R. It really is a nice weight and size.
@@karenholden4740 I’m looking at a couple of TWSBIs for future purchases. I nearly bought one last week, but got grabbed by a Chinese pens which is currently on its way to me.
I appreciate your video and enjoy my TWSBI 580. However, it has already had a cap break on me. Granted, they sent a new one for free, which I like. However, the prevalence of their flawed construction is so huge that it stops me from ever buying a TWSBI again
I have an Eco, 580 and a Precision. The Eco is decent, but like I the writing touch better on the 580 and the Precision (which appear to share the same nib as each other)
I have the eco, 580 and VAC700R as well. My wife uses the eco. The 580 was my primary writer until i got the 700R. Now i carry both, but use the 700R as it has my main ink while the 580 has the alternate ink i write with for contrast. I also have a second nib for my 580, a stub. I love how easy it is to swap nibs on that 580. It should also be easy to do so with the VAC700R, but i got that Iris model, with the rainbow tip. So I want to see if i can get alternate nibs with the same anodized rainbow finish. Unclear if twsbi sells them, but hoping i can get them at a penshow or something
Sometimes when I write with my Diamond 580, I wonder why I didn't just stop there. I love seeing people do those ink smears and I like doing them as well, but it does leave you with very inky fingers. I have the Kyanite pen ordered. It was a Fountain Pen Day purchase.

Thanks for that info on the Swipe. I'm looking at getting one of them soon, so that it great to know.

I'm quite enjoying the 700R, but I do think I paired it with the wrong ink. I may clean it out and put a more friendly ink into it.
@GarryEves did you use a shimmer ink?
@@paulmchugh1430 In the 700R - Star bright - I cleaned it out yesterday and am going to try a different ink
I like the mini vac

@@kart182 sorry to hear about your issue. I’ve heard a number of people talking about cracking issues with TWSBI pens.

I have the rainbow 700R as well. It was the nib colouring that drew me to it as it was quite unusual.
You should get the TWSBI Classic.
Thanks. I've added that to my "ToBuy" list

The Kyanite is very nice, not sure which I prefer, the Iris or the Kyanite in terms of looks.
