A few years ago I thought of giving dragons front knee joints like dogs so they have the same number of joints on their front and hind legs. It also allows you to move the elbow closer to the chest to make it a bit more realistic without having it look weird.
Usually don't comment, but I get a cheeky early one AND the commentary is fun as hell haha, I also keep forgetting to use the tail limb trick, it's so SO crazy helpful! And the dragons look so good!
you can make a tail still very wavey (as a normal one made out of vertebrae would be) if you make it out of a lot of joints! however thatll also eat at the complexity score also always thought that red scaley texture was actually amphibian skin. i still think so. and the blue one reads like feathers/fuzz to me. i think these can both go for a dragon anyways but yeah !
I've found that using the asymmetry mechanic (click on a part using the A button) helps cut down on the complexity a bit when you use it on single parts, especially the complex ones like limbs, mouths, and certain details. That way you can slap on more parts if you feel like it'll make the creature look better!
I got back into playing Spore recently and I’m glad I got recommended this video I’m genuinely going to use that trick with the extra leg to get rid of that divot between the spine and the tail for some of my more reptilian creatures
I wish this game gave you more wing customization, I hate how you can't make a wing design where the plagiopatagium extends past the hips. There are also no pterosaur wings.😒

Though, I would be curious as to how to do more insect-like creatures in a proper manner (If even possible), I tend to prefer that but have been more liberal with how I do them

I will be posting the video of its creation as soon as I can...but, I put feathers on the majority of its body (the small single feathers) amd they were very tedious and difficult to do, but I did and it looks great and works well on it, but the game started crashing and crashed trying to save it once. Now I can open the creature creator of it, but the raptor is completely frozen. I can still add and take away things, but every time I click to test drive it crashes. It's really disappointing because that is probably the best thing I have ever made in spore. I used to play it when I was younger (I'm 19 now) and just managed to get it working and got mods on it today. I haven't played spore in while so I kinda lost my touch with it, but the raptor ended up really well, especially for my first creation in fricken years.

How do you get infinite DNA but also add it into the base-game?
Only via mods, usually "Dark Injection". However you can also do CTRL+SHIFT+C and type in "addDNA" to get extra DNA :)

Hold ctrl and pull the limb apart at the same time. Don’t move the joint, only the base of the limb section.
