Bravo! Your outstanding technique is obvious, but I also want to congratulate you on the variety of tone colors you produce, and the way you use them - and your _pianissimos_ are gorgeous. Good piece, too - it held my interest all the way through, and it's very well orchestrated. I particularly liked the slower sections. Also, this breaks the record for highest note called for on baritone that I've encountered. Was that a written double-D-flat?!?!? (I think the old record, in my experience, was the double B in the Xenakis quartet.) You handled it expertly.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I worked closely with the composer, Florestan Gauthier, to create this piece, and we aimed to explore the baritone saxophone in every possible way, both technically and musically. I'm glad you noticed the variety of tone colors, as that was a key focus during our collaboration. And yes, that high note is indeed a double D-flat, written in E-flat! We really pushed the limits of the instrument with this concerto, and I'm thrilled to hear that it kept your interest throughout. Thanks again for your thoughtful feedback!
Tu es vraiment le meilleur🔥💓
Merci beaucoup Minji !☺
