    Glad you had a good experience with your kid’s revisions.
    My two sons both had tongue ties. The first one’s doctor scheduled his revision at one month and it went very well. Nursing improved so much. Son number two, with a different doctor, did not get addressed. At 18 months I asked his pediatrician about having his revised.
    He was not a specialist and I trusted him only because he was a doctor. Big mistake. He said he would do it right then. He had me hold my son in my lap as he numbed the area. I continued to hold him, when he started the procedure, with only surgical snips/scissors.
    My son was calm and trusting. He closed his eyes and opened his mouth, trusting. What a good baby he was. Once the snip was made, he was obviously in pain and bleeding profusely. The doctor kind of freaked out. He stuffed gauze under my son’s tongue. I asked him about cauterizing the area, like was done with my first child and he said he didn’t have that equipment. I gathered our things quickly and got out of there with my traumatized child.
    So yes, go to a specialist!

    I cannot believe how quiet, calm and well behaved your beautiful children are!! Is that a benefit of having the tie revisions??? Sign my family up! Kidding...but seriously, your kids are so patient!

    This was so fascinating! Our first son had a lip/tongue/buccal ties. He had trouble gaining weight and we were *this close* to doing formula but after the tie revision that made such a difference! I’m pregnant with #2 and now know what to look for so we don’t wait months to get any revisions done. Also very interesting about how ties affect more than in infancy!!

    Dear Marissa. We have to revise our son's lip and tongue tie but he is 21 months old. How did you keep a toddler still for the procedure?? I'm so overwhelmed about this. Would love to hear about this Thank you so much ! Huge fan btw.❤️

    Hi Marisa, I'm getting all 3 of my kids tongue and lip ties revised. I'm now interested in it for myself especially since you mentioned poor posture and sleep issues. I'd love for you to do a video on your experience when you have yours done.

    Hi, I would like to know what the procedures for older kids too. My chiropractor said my 4 year old has tongue tie and so does her son who is 3. As far as she knows, the clip requires whole body anesthesia for kids their ages so she hasn’t done anything. It intimidated me just thinking of this. Could you give me more info regarding this?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting! When our kids had theirs done, they numbed the area well so they couldn't feel anything, but didn't use general anesthesia. It was a quick process and they healed so fast, I was surprised how easy it was. Maybe different specialists have different methods. I just know it's important to find a tongue tie doctor who is well experienced with this.

      I just got my four-year-old tongue tie revised. We went to an experience dentist who used as CO2 laser. Only took a few seconds.

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry I should have gone into more detail on that! Will have to do part 2 :) It was a really easy procedure, and I was amazed at how quickly they healed. The doctor used local numbing, and it was done in a few minutes.

    Hi Marisa! My question is for you personally, my son has had a tongue tie, and has speech enunciation issues and he got his release at a couple of weeks old but he's 4 and he still has issues. It seems like with tongue ties and lip ties, that lots of people are getting rich from vulnerable mother's. It doesn't make sense that they are saying tongue ties are the cause of all these different things, how do you know they are telling the truth versus just saying these things to make money off an area where most of us are quite ignorant??

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! I have talked to quite a few people, specialists and otherwise before deciding what to do. It is essential for them to do myofunctional therapy and not rely on just the frenectomy to notice relief of symptoms. The tongue and mouth has to re-learn how it is supposed to move correctly. It is a very inexpensive, simple procedure, so for us it made sense to do it. I have already noticed a lot of benefits. I will be getting mine done soon, so I will be able to share even more afterwards :)

    • @sunoftheyek8261

  • @somberheart84

    I am going though this right now with my younger kids. It's going to cost me over 10k to fix what having an undiagnosed tongue tie did to them. Also I can't hear you very well with the music in the background.
