Took a while, but it was worth the wait! I still can't believe these videos don't have more views, the quality is just so high! I appreciate how much time you spent actually playing all of the games to get more in depth thoughts. Cactus McCoy 2 is my favorite Flash game of all times, so I cannot wait to see that video :)

I could never have the mental strength to play for more than like 2 hours on any other game than Freezeria for some reason like that one was just the most satisfying to play.
Great video! (Also sorry I missed the Premiere)

One thing to note about the Save Backup feature in Taco Mia and later games: that feature actually wasn't in Taco Mia at launch, it was first introduced in Jacksmith in 2012, then it was rolled back to Taco Mia, Freezeria, Pancakeria and Wingeria. (Pizzeria and Burgeria were on a more rudimentary engine so they didn't get the feature)

oh interesting, good to know! Kinda funny that Jacksmith introduced the feature when the file format is “.papa”

Hey! Just an additional thing I wanted to comment on, these games (Freezeria Deluxe in particular) have a small but very active modding scene! One of the biggest Freezeria Deluxe mods as of now ports the Paleteria customers over to Freezeria!

21:20 one side note about Taqueria HD in particular however is that they have some serious problems with their OST not muting properly (the main example being the mini game OST plays even when the OST is supposed to be muted) so take that into account when choosing which version to play; Or just wait until a deluxe version comes out, that’s what I’d recommend

I feel like this might be a somewhat cringey thing to say, but I'd be flattered if someone said it to me: you're one of my biggest inspirations! The Steak and Jake references in this video hit very close to home for me, because inspired by you, I recently reviewed those games myself, for Halloween (in Hungarian though).
I gotta say however, in this video, at certain points it felt like you were scrambling for something to say... which is understandable really, it's not a huge deal, the video just felt a tiny bit slower paced than usual. But overall it was still a great time, this didn't really detract from the overall quality, and you presented a lot of information I didn't know before, so thanks! Looking forward to the Cactus McCoy review!

Wow that's awesome, thank you!! I will say, it was difficult to find unique things to say about, like, Burgeria/Freezeria HD and Taco Mia To Go, they didn't give me that much to work with lol.

I imagine the Cactus McCoy stuff is having Jacksmith later to uphold your sanity. In fact, I may've laid out a future video grouping for the Retrospectiveria:
Pancakeria, (Burgeria HD mention?) Wingeria, Hot Doggeria, (all 2012)
    Jacksmith, (same year)
    Cupcakeria, Pastaria, Donuteria,
PL2 and 3 (latter released next),
Cheeseria, (Cupcakeria apps mention) Bakeria, (TacoMia HD quick mention) Sushiria, (all with 08 max)
Slider Scouts, (2017 HD mini tangent?,) Pals app, Scooperia, (7 to Go's mini tangent?)
Mocharia, Cluckeria, (Freezeria Deluxe mention?) Paletaria (mobile exclusives)
The app "mentions" would mostly entail the apps icon popping up with its releases date while saying the likes of "following the release of ____". Just something quick to acknowledge its spot in the timeline after grouping it with the flash release.

19:48 Oh! San Antonian here, around here, it’s actually surprisingly common to find tacos with breakfast items in them (eggs, bacon, potato’s, you get the jist) albeit it is NEVER in that abomination y’all call a hard shell (I’m sorry, but it’s something I’ll never accept as edible), I have also never seen any restaurant using a waffle as a taco shell or using maple syrup as a sauce for tacos but what do I know, maybe I’m just crazy

The HD versions works not only on tables but also on phones but you need to download them by apk file. Now it's time to wait for Cactus McCoy video and a steam remake of the McCoy games.

I honestly wish Flipline would increase the difficulty over the course of the games more. Nowadays you get to 7 customers per day on the third holiday and do the same thing over and over again until you beat the game or 100% it by getting all the gold medals. I think increasing the amount of customers per day, the speed they come in and adding back the overheating boosters like you mentioned in the video would make the core gameplay loop more enjoyable.

    • @seanyproductions
      @seanyproductions  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Oh yeah, for sure I wish they did that too! Once you get to the final customer amount every day feels almost the same, would be great to add even more when you get further in. I also think it would be nice to vary how many customers use the dining room/phone instead of knowing it'll always be 2 every day, just for variety.

    • @terestar1
      @terestar1 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I think a difficulty setting would be nice - like an easy, medium or hard mode. You just choose the option based on what experience you want - whether it's chilled and laid back or more fast paced and challenging.

The problem though is that flipline has to consider that these games are made for phones and not computers running flash.
For example, I have a pretty cheap phone that's a bit laggy from time to time, but someone else could have an expensive phone that runs like butter.
That junk would impact performance for sure on lower end phones.
And also the games are harder to play just by being on mobile.
It's alot easier to be precise with a mouse than it is with your finger in most cases.

is Louie his first or last name?

in early 2019 for the apps hence why the old ones from 2012-2015 have the font from Bakeria (and the not Arial font in the tip jar).
With Pancakeria just a month before it, lots seemed to carry over, same order of minigames, order of closers with the absentees in place of Hank and Ninjoy...
Does the lobby decor just appear as you progress?
I don't prefer the 'assembly line' of To Go either. Makes me curious to how PC versions of the latest 3 restaurants would look, or swapping the mobile's seasonal ingredients into the PC layout.
While I would like Burgeria to get a Deluxe version, I can imagine some hindrances. We can add different patties, buns, and other ingredients, though fries have been done, the outside shot has the restaurant rather isolated with nothing much around it, and most apparently Cluckeria already taking the W.
Could there be a Mama Mia if Papa Louie?
Along with the old lobbies looking less orthodox with no customization, there's also a stand out of a register present on the counter (and UI) went ordering, and red trays upon serving.
I learnt the 'stop mid pour' trick when Papa Louie Archive made a face with blueberries.
This also seemed to be the standardized bottles for sauces/syrups/drizzles.
Most I saw Game Theory touch the gamerias, was a mention before the Cool Math Games ARG.
Though compared to the next 4 games, they don't always both appear...
What Akari got up to, to be a closer, I've no idea.
And of course, like you said on the patty temperatures, can't really release and drag on touchscreen.
If you look at the HD's UI, and compare in to the 4 "even numbered" apps before it, the ratio looks notably different.
Not sure what led to choosing Penny, though I have seen the only parade floats to swap the genders around were of Freezeria, Hot Doggeria and Scooperia (in case you wanna use Peggy and Koilee for their games).
I think I somewhere about Calypso Island being where Robby got stranded. Could they've populated it during Taco Mia following his rescue?
And we haven't 12 established residents yet - only like 9.
Almost all the customers still some missing like Mary or Cooper.
Not preferring the boost myself, but I see what you mean.
Along with the 2nd customer appearing in the Shack, apparently the surfboards detail the concrete for the 3rd.
The game is also #2 on Cool Math behind a Run.
And the iconic cute shakers (all 8 are in Deluxe)
I think Purple Burple is the only syrup not in Deluxe, rather having Ube for the color. Along with Dreamsicle drizzle, lollipop bits.
Upon seeing the giant lucky cat statue, it gave me an idea for using it to toggle the customer count and entrance rate.
Very evident as per the narrower tickets, wordless UI and menu. The 3rd lobby aisle was a sacrifice for the modern to go engine, and I now see a reason behind the drizzles sticker not flipping: when pouring, they look like the assembly line with the nozzle swapped. And the shakers, while unique, now have square labels as To Go always had to clash with the circles for drizzles.
My favorite layout would probably be the HDs from 2017.
Funny how HD had them switch hands for the wide eye point.
And finally gives one of the first 8 an ending.
I say a comparison of the 4 versions, very interesting how it enhanced.
More like 16 as Paletaria was after this. But I can agree on the timeline stuff. The opening implies it's their first time, but the parade floats imply later on.
The detail of the deliveries being on the island before unlocking Papa is a nice touch.
I was surprised to see Deluxe is apparently available in 4:3 like the flash games.
Loving the relationship lore in the dining room. (Bummer that Pizzeria kind of has it late stage...)
Looking forward to Pancakeria, maybe I'll splash some details to save your research time... ;)

You know, these games show how Flipline manages to get better with every game. Every sequel, things improve. They truly are the Mario of cooking games. And yeah, Flipline really needs to lay down on the seasonal zaniness. Many of the ingredients/toppings are just downright ridiculous.
Also, Quinn and Jojo should stop being closers for once.
Fun fact: Burgeria is still the only game without seasons in any way. I'd look forward to Burgeria Deluxe.
As for the chefs... Let's just say... once you get into Pancakeria, I have MANY choice words on the issue of chef selection.
Speaking of which, thoughts on new customers being alternate universe counterparts of beloved characters?
