Are the Cleveland Guardians playing with fire by not putting a better team around Jose Ramirez?

    Hey, Bull, it's December not March. Hold your water and see what happens.
    BTW, what happened to the complaints about stockpiling middle infielders and not giving any of them a chance?
    I miss Andres already. I'll be watching some Blue Jays. Fun to watch!

    The Guardians are in a perpetual rebuild. The choose a player to sign to a long term contract that they feel the fans connect with but most players are expendable.

    Jose did his part. Why won't management? Having said that, we have watched the Cleveland team dump salary for decades. Big money players will never come here for that reason. We are not a "player" in free agency. The bad thing is that it looks like MLB salaries are in an upward ascension and all "low budget" teams are going to continually lose to the big money clubs. If something isn't done soon, Baseball won't be expanding, it will be contracting. And Cleveland will be one of the clubs that disappears.

    Gimenez and Rosario was supposed to be the Guardians DP combination for the next decade. Now, they have nothing to show from the Francisco Lindor trade.

    Jose’s comment shows that has 0 faith that they will spend the money they saved somewhere else and he’s the closest to knowing whether they actually will other than the manager, FO and owner

    Karma. Don’t worry. What Paul Dolan is doing to us will come right back to him.

    I was surprised that Ramirez signed the contract with Cleveland. The organization has been the same for about 20 years. I believe they had a decent sized payroll when they went after Encarnacion for a couple years. Other than that 2-3 year spurt they have sheets had a horrendous payroll and looked to flip players while they still had semi-attractive contracts before they hit free agency.

    The tribe is loaded with replacements for 2nd base and they dumped a huge contract. Giminez disappointed offensively, even hitting in front of Ramirez. Trades can be a bit emotional, but this was a very good business decision.

    Gee, they had the 2nd best team in the AL last season, and the Yankees have gotten markedly worse.
    The Guardians will be fine, despite those who still traffic in the shopworn Guardian-ownership-is-cheap trope.

    in all honesty.. jose is a great team player.. not a franchise player. jose would make an amazing complementary piece on a title team. the fact that he has to be your best player goes to show the state of the mentality of the owner. you need more. you have always been one bat or one pitcher away. thats the difference between champions and runner ups. stop doing this to your fanbase dolans. the difference between the dolans and the haslams are more than just money. the dolans know they have the money to make it happen because they employ people with the know how to get the job done. whereas the haslams have the money, spend it.. but do not necessarily have those in place to get the job done and they meddle. Once Dan Gilbert stopped meddling.. the Cavs won it all because he wasn't afraid to let David Griffin do whatever it took to win while Lebron's window was still open during the 2nd run in Cleveland. Every single year. When is the last time the Guardians can say they did EVERYTHING possible to win it all?

    Yet, Larry and Paul Dolan are in the top 10 richest owners in MLB. And they don't spend. Just pick another MLB team to root for. This team will not win the World Series until they spend money. While you're at it, pick a new NFL team to root for. Try the Ravens. They are the original Browns.

    A better team? There you go. Almost to the WS, and that ain’t enough. Follow the Browns!

    your # 1 minor leaguer in 2024 (Brito) is a 2B, and your #1 overall draft pick (Bazzana) is a 2B. Gotta move a 2B

      @sly0422 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So you move the top 10 2B? For 2 unknowns when you just went to the ALCS. The problem isn’t that they moved gime it’s why and when. It was to save money 2 years from now that they won’t spend. Jose took over 100Mil discount and they aren’t spending it.
