@@LifeAlmostWithoutAnime To understand whether it’s Ymir’s will or Eren’s, as you asked me about in the comment you later deleted, we need to consider a few things. The first episode is titled 'To You, 2000 Years Later,' and episode 80 is called 'From You, 2000 Years Ago.' This shows the parallel the author creates between Eren and Ymir, the false Ymir, Historia, and Mikasa. Essentially, it’s Ymir who has been using Eren-or rather, the Attack Titan-since her death. She’s been building Titans for King Fritz, and from the very first Attack Titan, Eren has existed because of a time paradox. The Attack Titan itself has no real power, but once connected to the Paths and the Founding Titan, Eren sends his memories back to the very first Attack Titan, and he even sends memories to his younger self. Ymir orchestrated everything so that her meeting with Eren, her liberator, would happen. For instance, in Season 4, Episode 17, she heals Zeke because he has royal blood, but he’s also the only one who can bring others into the Paths, since the first holder of the Founding Titan wasn’t a royal blood. Rod Reiss transforms, but as Eren says, why doesn’t he come to eat him? [SPOILER] (I’m not sure if you’ve finished the last episode yet). Eren controlled Dina multiple times, as well as Rod Reiss. In the end, Eren was able to indoctrinate previous Attack Titan holders, encouraging them to always fight, like with Eren Kruger and Grisha. It’s a time paradox, but ultimately, it’s just Eren with overwhelming power. He contributes to Ymir’s plan, and the two work together to [SPOILER] show Mikasa the future Ymir wished she could have had. AGAIN THANKS FOR YOUR REACTIONS IT FELT AUTHENTIC !!
@floch-jaeger9485 you might have been answering a question I asked earlier on your other post. But I deleted to better phrase it but never got the chance to. Sorry about that.
Great Reaction the series has come such a long way from EP1 of the entire story . And the way Hange went out swinging it’s only right to shed a few tears for her last hurrah . The scene with Erwin that followed after just made me bawl even harder .
Hange’s death was both horrific and beautiful. A worthy sendoff to one of the greats. The throwback to the first seasons music, her never changing her love and fascination of titans, Levi finally saying shinzou wo sasageyo, the reunion of the fallen, and Hange putting the mission before her own life and always giving time to others. One of the best moment in AoT
I don't know if you guys caught it but when Eren is walking down the street having his moral conflict and saving/crying to Ramzi. That is moments before Mikasa finds him on the hill in eps 28 and before he asks her what she is to him then of course their drinking party.
Dude, I literally sobbed for Hange. I didn't even realized how much she grew on me over the seasons until she stepped in to sacrifice herself. 26:35 Go back to the first episode when they introduced Falco, what he dreamed about after they pulled him back into the trench. 27:36 Yes, Annie's dad... The old lady is Reiner's mom, the man with the armband is Pieck's father. The medium age couple are the parents of Gabi 31:13 From all the emitted steam of the colossal titans. You really shouldn't have skipped the outro song though (Under The Tree). It holds a certain meaning for the end of the show, which you may or may not figure out before watching it.
Your prayers for us in Palestine in Gaza because what is happening in this anime Attack on Titan in the scenes of destruction, death, burning, dismemberment and trampling are all in Gaza now Thousands of missiles are being fired at us, killing our families and friends, and no one is able to stop the war. Damn it, the scenes here are really, really horrible, worse than this anime., pray for us 🇵🇸😢😢🇵🇸🇵🇸 and I love you ❤️ Greetings from Palestine❤
Curious fact: when Hange dies, Levi says "keep watching us" and in Levi's OVA in the manga, the first words that Hange says to Levi when he meets him was "i was watching you" (in the scene when Levi was training). The reference is beautiful.
In the anime this is not very clear, but in the manga the conversation between Annie and Armin reflects one of the main themes of AoT: "The world is cruel, but beautiful."
Lisa, did you pay attention to what Eren said to Ramzi? Eren saved him, just as he had foreseen, but even though he wanted to change that, he couldn’t. The future doesn’t change because Eren can’t escape who he is-a foolish kid with a dream of absolute freedom. Since he was born, he has unconsciously known the future, always feeling like a bird trapped in a cage. To him, freedom was being the one to see the sea beyond the walls, but the truth was that the world was just a larger prison. Eren wants to prove that he wasn’t born only to free Ymir, but that he deserves to live in this world because he was born into it, the same goes for his friends. His dream is to explore the world and live without being hated simply for existing. But because Eren can see the future, he realizes he can never truly escape his desire for freedom.
For more context, you can rewatch: Season 1, Episode 12 (when Eren unconsciously burns his home and family to go beyond the walls, driven by the fact that he was born into this world) Season 1, Episode 13 (when Eren says he doesn’t care about the sea itself but wants to be the one who sees it) Season 3, Episode 7 (Eren crying in front of Historia, saying his existence is meaningless, a mistake) Season 3, Episode 11 (where Eren parallels himself with Keith Sadies, two ordinary people, but Keith tells him what his mother once said: 'You’re special because you were born'), Season 3, Episode 13 (Eren, lacking confidence, says that everyone is born special and free) Season 4, Episode 3 (when Eren tells Falco that those who go to war see something different beyond the chaos, and the only way to understand is to keep moving forward) Season 4, Episode 5 (Eren tells Reiner they are the same, not because they can’t abandon their dreams, but because they’re seeing something beyond all the hell).
lmao i clicked off as soon as i heard english but while the page was loading i heard you say "Why is it always going to english" so i came back! Thank you for watching this masterpiece in Japanese!
Now that we're almost at the end (and I presume you've watched the last episode already), let's talk about Falco's dream from Ep 4-1. He did mention flying -- and that is certainly foreshadowing for his final form -- but he also mentioned being surrounded by Titans, and specifically wielding "swords". He wasn't dreaming about his future form; he was dreaming about being a Scout, flying around with ODM gear and killing Titans with anti-Titan blades. He was probably peeking into the memories of the Scout "Ymir", since he eventually inherits her Titan (even though he hasn't yet -- you know, timey-wimey stuff). I think other commenters have already pointed this stuff out, but I wanted to state it again just in case you missed it.
Hange has been my favorite character for a while now, so many reasons but most relevant is that they would never have even attempted to stop Eren without her. At least I don't think so. She takes responsibility for all the shit they've done that was questionable and goes out her way. Absolutely one of my favorite characters ever written. Also side note but in the Manga her entire death charge is like 3 pages, biggest fix in the entire show was making that 3 pages 3 minutes.
Wow all it takes is for Eren to do the rumbling and the people of the world realize their mistakes and all it takes was the destruction of humanity for them to realized
You've probably got this figured out already, but the conversation about "manifesting" is sort of poorly written (or perhaps intentionally misleading). It seems that all of the intelligent Titans have some power of manifesting the powers of the others if they ingest parts of each other. They were just using the Female Titan as an example, since she was there for the conversation, and since apparently the Female Titan is better at it than the others. Yeah, it's probably true that Annie (and Zeke) can do some hardening because they've ingested some part of the Armored Titan (or War Hammer Titan maybe) -- just as Eren could start doing it because he ingested that vial labeled "Armor" found in Rod Reiss's bag (presumably some spinal fluid extracted from a past Armored Titan long ago and saved for all this time). I imagine there's more detail in the manga, which I haven't read.
Lisa, I've noticed that you remain pretty sympathetic towards Eren this entire season even though you clearly don't agree with what he's doing. It's like you understand well what brought him to this point. He simply mentally broke due to everything he went through. It doesn't excuse genocide but it gives a layer of understanding to his reasoning. I think Hugo does as well. Don't know for sure if that's his name. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, if you read this comment, I'm wondering if you are planning on doing reactions to all of the OPs and EDs? If so, I recommend viewing them with the lyrics .
I don't think Lisa ( right? ) is necessarily wrong about Eren in this episode. Sure we know that he's an idiot and what he did was wrong. Though he mostly did it for his idea of freedom but he also did it for his loved ones and home as well as getting rid of the Titan curse which was the current source of all the hatred. Because you can have more than one desire and goals at the same time. Of course this show is about perspective so i could be wrong. Enjoyed your reactions. Looking forward to the next one.
