Just to explain more on what she did. She inoculated the charcoal with microorganisms (charging it), and it then becomes biochar (biology & charcoal). The charcoal is an habitat for the microbes to multiply and convert nutrients to usable food source for the plants and this process can last for a lifetime and more. As opposed to commercial farming where they use readily available fertilizer salts that the plants take up almost instantly, this organic gardening method give the microbes a home to multiply and feed on the nutrients you provide then the microbes feed the plant. Remember in organic farming you feed the soil, not the plants. Hope this helps.😊
Thank you very much Do I just move to a new location. I love farming even to just plant one vegetable 😂. However, the ground here is not suitable for my interests. @@brigidlaffey7343 I've used charcoal but never crushed and soaked with kitchen scraps for a week or so, instead small bits were just placed around the base of the plants then watered. Beautiful beautiful video packed with accurate information. Lovely as usual Marie. For those who want to geek out and get more info, you can research the soil food web. Living soil is the best. Most of the food we buy from the market comes from dirt which is not the same as soil. Dirt is dead meaning that it is almost void or totally void of beneficial microorganisns and organic matter. That is why traditional farmers rely 200% on inorganic fertilizers. They feed the plants while they should be feeding the soil to make living soil. Living soil takes time to build but it helps you to save money and improve your family's nutrition once achieved. Big up Marie for sharing organic gardening gold. ❤

New to the Channel, but definitely not new to gardening. I'm a 5-6th Generation Farmer/Gardener from the States and I have to say, you did an amazing job in this video explaining how charcoal can be beneficial in the Garden and why it's beneficial. Here in the states they make a product called Bio-Char and there's a lot of skepticism around it and they claim you have to activate it before adding it to the garden. After I did some research, I found out that it's basically Charcoal. It helps to absorb and hold on to beneficial microbes like nitrogen, Potassium and Potash, meanwhile holding onto the moisture, plus creating a home for other beneficial microbes that help your plants. I say that to say this, You've done a lot better job at explaining this than I could have so you've been doing your own research and know what you are talking about. Your Garden plants alone explain this to the trained eye, all it takes for someone to do is look at your plants closely. They look fantastic. Keep up the Great work and look forward to continuing to see more of your videos.

so happy you share this with those who do not know, but be aware that charcoal (bio=char) added to the soils will at first absorb the nutrients and water before releasing them to the plants...if possible charge the fertilizer before use in the gardens.....
This video is rather helpful. I am happy l came upon your program for the first time. I am living in Jamaica at a place where the soil quality is poor . Flowers vegetables don't thrive at all. It’s the scallion Sis Marie 💚💚💚 love this video blessings 💚🇯🇲
Thank you so much 🙏
so happy you share this with those who do not know, but be aware that charcoal (bio=char) added to the soils will at first absorb the nutrients and water before releasing them to the plants...if possible charge the fertilizer before use in the gardens.....
That is very important to keep in mind! 🙏
Thank you for sharing your ideas on how to make the soil healthier for plants
You are very welcome

This video is rather helpful. I am happy l came upon your program for the first time. I am living in Jamaica at a place where the soil quality is poor . Flowers vegetables don't thrive at all. Your demonstration seems quite interesting, and your plants testify to what you're saying. I certainly will be trying your methods . Thanks for this valuable demonstration. 🎉
You're in the right place! I'm so glad you found the channel 😊 happy gardening!
