OMG EXCELLENT video! I am a 70 year old single senior lol, getting tired of waiting for my "repair" Guy to come and missing my oven; I can do it myself! I just need the right tool to get the thing off... this video is so clear and easy to follow! Thank you a million times.
Thank you so much for this video! I am almost 70, and my oven had been out of order for about 2 months... I got the part, but the guy who was supposed to put it in never came, even after several promises to come. I got tired of waiting and found this video. I am older, short and not as strong as a man lol, but I was able to put in my new element (with a little cussing and sweating lol). The hardest part was getting the old one out as it was kind of stuck and it was hurting my hands trying to get it out. But I used a pliers and was able to get it without hurting it, which I was afraid of. Make sure you have a good flashlight handy so you can see it well. Thank you again! My oven is working now, and I am going to bake cookies tomorrow lol.
Same here. Congratulations! I have changed it twice. But my 2nd one is not touching the bottom of the oven. As it is lopsided and one side is higher than the other. Wondering if it will hurt anything.

Great video! But I have a question. Im trying to fix my moms oven. Apparently without my noticing she removed the bake element by herself. I dont see the wires. Could it be possible she yanked out the wires? or that they are still inside? If so how to I find at take them out to connect to the new bake element?

I replaced the burned out heating element and measured the resistance of 19 ohms at the terminals when I connected it, but both heating elements do not work and do not heat up. Hi @@J.T.19134 This video is a free video available both on TH-cam and our website. For our videos that are not free, our rentals are not $19.99, rather only $7.99. The $39.99 membership is recommended for service companies to get unlimited access to all videos to help train their technicians. If you already know how to diagnose and replace an element, then of course you should just buy the part - however for those who are not familiar with the repair, or need help diagnosing their appliance a $7.99 rental is much cheaper than a service call / throwing parts at the appliance / or potentially damaging the unit.

I changed my element in the oven, and turned the oven on for the first time. It had a light smell like the element was burning off whatever was on it. I immediately turned it off just to be on the safe side. Is that smell normal the first time you turn on the oven with a new element?

I saw in another tutorial video that its normal to have a smell after initially turning on after replacement. I guess there is an oil on the element, and that is what you're smelling....I'm not a professional (obviously, since I'm also watching these videos) but figured this could be helpful for someone else scrolling through these comments.

I saw in another tutorial video that its normal to have a smell after initially turning on after replacement. I guess there is an oil on the element, and that is what you're smelling....I'm not a professional (obviously, since I'm also watching these videos) but figured this could be helpful for someone else scrolling through these comments.
