Toolbar Pushback for MSFS - Major Update includes Pushback Pre-Planner! [MUST HAVE Freeware Addon!]

- Toolbar Pushback has been one of my must-have freeware addons for Microsoft Flight Simulator since it's original release many months ago, and it has improved over time to be without doubt possibly the best freeware pushback tool available for MSFS...
...but it's just gone to a whole new level with v1.4.0 with one key feature we have all been wanting and waiting for - Pushback Pre-Planner!
In this video, I'll show you the new feature, show you how to use it and demonstrate it in two scenarios - a normal push and start in the A320neo, followed by a slightly more complex pushback in the B787-10 out of a cul-de-sac.

@@BritishAvgeek Exactly ! I will now be able to park realistically a jet or a GA aircraft on the Golf stands on the north apron at Geneva since they need a pushback 😂. But that addon put MSFS closer to the same experience of Better Pushback in XP11. Great news for us MSFS simmers !
@UCY4P1-YRRtYIeXwkSugAa-Q I tried it in the Redwing Geneva airport scenery with the JustFlight Piper Warrior 2 and it was working. Don't know if it works on stands without ramp pushback. Need to try. But before that update I could use it with GA also. But yeah the devs are excellent ! Their job is truly amazing.

Indeed, this particular feature had me envious of xplane with the ability to have such accurate automated pushback but now it's in MSFS I couldn't be happier!

Such a massive feature which I’ll be honest, I wasn’t sure anyone would be able to do with the SDK! Amazing achievement. They deserve a full dinner for this, not a coffee.

Holy crap. So happy to see this. It’s just like Better Pushback in Xplane. This makes it so easy. Would be great to have some better voices and such for ultimate immersion but yeah this is a pushback game changer for MSFS.

I'm comming back to MSFS after 9 years. I used to enjoy IVAO pushback feature, but the new Altitude doesn´t have it. I finally found this awesome addon.

Great feature.... can now hear the internal engine start up while pushing back, always had to wait till pb was complete.
all that work on the FBW sounds being so nice to hear, we can now enjoy them on startup during pushback like you say - a great new update!

I hope this mod will be updated. It would seem, at least for me, that it completely stopped working after March 23 SU.
This is an awesome mod I've been using everyday for a long time.
I'm a virtual heavy hauler cargo pilot, and this is a game changer for getting the big birds lined up correctly. Been calling for a better pushback alternative since August 2020. Absolute legends. I'm popping over to the download now so I can buy the devs a pot of coffee.
If there is ever a freeware product that deserves recognition from the community with a financial reward, its this one. Please people, go fund them.

This is really cool. I'm actually tempted to try some lazy taxiing and see if I can plot a route all the way to the runway (not on network obviously lol).

Game changer, simply bc of the simplicity too. Much better than most options even for other sims currently. Msfs really has one of the best freeware communities. They after all are carrying the sim rn, as long as payware devs such as fenix or pmdg prepare their projects.
this year it's really coming into its own as a world leading, market beating simulator with amazing freeware plus *the* very best payware aircraft add-ons coming very soon too
@@BritishAvgeek definitely. MSFS is always hated on but I think its mostly bc everyone had insanely high expectations, and tbf Asobo are doing a fantastic job too. The other sims have been around much longer but also had issues when releasing, and alongside that, what MSFS has done is already a game changer, even without all the stuff the community is doing. Msfs IS the future of fs, XP will possibly hold on if 12 is good, but MSFS is undoubtedly where most devs will focus their time on. Really excited for the next few months and years!

Thanks for the video and yes, this is an excellent addition to the mod. Unfortunately, it does not seem to work with nohandlebar. After having used nohandlebar for so long I cannot go back to the annoying default handlebar which to me is far more important to remove than the addition of a planned pushback enhancement. I will therefore stick to the previous pushback version until this incompatibility is resoved as I feel sure it will be eventually.
they're aware of the incompatibility and hopefully either Ambitious Pilots or the notoolbar Devs get it patched asap
And me that bought that bloody FS2Crew PB!!
I've got the same myself - had FS2Crew's PBE since they released it but when Toolbar Pushback came along I decided to move to that instead

it should work in VR yes as it adds into the drop down though as I don't have vr I can't check myself to be sure. it's freeware so download it and give it a go 🙂

i like the brightness of your cock pit.... i mean the bright grey .... in most other videos the A320 neo has a black cockpit ??? is the cockpit of A320neo black or grey how you see in your video?
Definitely a plus for MSFS. Clearly makes it easy to put the aircraft where we want it. It is disappointing though, that they did not model the Push Truck so that the wheels turned and the truck rotates the aircraft in the turns. As it is, the aircraft is turned properly but just drags the truck along, never changing the relationship between the aircraft and the truck.
Brilliant! Now they just need to work on the voices to make that a little more realistic then it will be best add on ever

nope though I'd happily record something for them if I could contact them!
@@BritishAvgeek The wav files aren't (currently) packaged up in any way so, for me as a non-public user, I've just replaced the captain's wav files with my own recordings. I messaged him on Flightsim.to to check he had no problem with that, even for streamers, and his reply was "Yes, replacing the .wav files with your own recordings is alright." The wav files are buried down in \Data\Shared\Pushback\Sound\en-US if you wish to replace to use in your future streams ...

hey there, I´ve just downloaded the toolbar pushback, but there´s no tug that pushes me back. The p/b itsel works, but without any tug. Any hint for me?
Very similar to Better Pushback for X-Plane and equally great! One issue I have though is I don't get any voices telling me to release the parking brake etc. Maybe some sound option in MSFS I need to adjust 🤔

In GA once I plan and request pushback, I release parking brake but the “hold” gets highlighted and does not automatically start. Any tips?
just press Hold and it'll release the aircraft and begin pushing back :)
Is anyone updating this mod to work with Simupdate 10? My Diamond DA62 is "stuck" on the tarman and will not move, even with full throttle after installing and trying to use this tool. No pushback happens either, even when trying the planned pushback. No app sounds either.
Sadly no idea the developer hasn't responded to requests in relation to the fenix a320 yet - I'll try and find a way to contact them myself to ask too but otherwise at this point in time I'm not sure
how you get pushback voices and pilot voices?
Thanks for that, as an xplane user I was really missing the map view as well as the pre-planning in MSFS. Also, I've previously had it in MSFS when pushing back at night, where there was a barrier that I hadn't seen behind the aircraft and during pushback the aircraft fell over it. Hoping that the map will help to avoid that. Anyone know if you can crash into ground vehicles or if they are treated the same way as other aircraft that you just pass straight through?
You can pass straight through ground vehicles that move around on the apron :)
@@BritishAvgeek Thanks for that. Ever since I assumed that I could pass through random fences (put behind the gate) and found that you can't, I'd been similarly worried about ground vehicles :D
Hello, I've installed the update for the pushback toolbar and when pressing its button on the toolbar the window doesn't open. I've tried multiple aircrafts and I don't have another pushback app in the background. I really want to use this mod....

Does this mod work with GA aircraft now? I tried it out a month or so ago but I could only get it to work on commercial planes at a gate. I almost exclusively fly GA. The planner is neat and yes, creators put a lot of effort into these mods. I always compensate if I find the mod useful. I hope all that use the tool reciprocate.
It should work with GA yes but it depends on the scenery and each aircraft I guess, if you find one doesn't work it'll be worth adding a comment to the download page for it in flightsim.to to ask for it to be investigated 🙂

The audio is part of the freeware add-on and it can be turned off too

Not sure - some airport scenery do not have ground vehicles working properly with it so could just be that

Did you click the i icon like I showed in the video? It'll bring up the list of ways to move it all around and plan. Scroll wheel rotates the aircraft

Today i removed the Bridge and the Sound keeps playing...why ever.
So i kindly ask for a "Reset" Button to add if possible .. because the sound did not stop for the hole flight :-)

@@StarflightVirtual that sounds super odd! Not heard of that bug before - only thing I can suggest is to toggle it off in the drop down completely (click the wheel, then toggle Pushback to off) and see if that helps?

Can we also Push Backwards and the forward with the Predefined Pushback ?
It is like that in Leipzig all night.
So the Aircraft is first pushed back from the position and then pushed forward to keep tha space for the next one.

check inside the options and make sure you're not using any add-ons like notoolbar that are currently not working with it

I wish things like this could be available on Xbox too.
In the future, I would imagine once it is out of Public Beta they would be able to add it to the msfs marketplace as a freeware product which will then allow it to work on xbox I'd imagine!

Bad advice to drag drop and replace. It’s ALWAYS preferable to delete existing folder and copy new one in. No chance of conflicts with previous version then.
Does it works with other planes such as 767,777, 787, 747 and 330?
Yes 🙂 - I'm guessing you didn't watch the second half of the video as that was the 787 😅 but it will work with the 747 too and I'm sure it should work with the other aircraft as well
@@BritishAvgeek I eventually did watch it to the end but was so excited with the new feature that sent message b4. Lol. The reason I asked was that in the past this tool would lift bigger aircraft too high so I stopped using it. I guess they fixed it then. Thank you ;)
