- Calls for a federal inquiry on Chinese interference in Canadian elections have been growing after a Global News report suggested Liberal MP Han Dong was allegedly helped by the Chinese consulate while running in the Toronto-area riding of Don Valley North during the 2019 election.

I can't believe that this guy said that our intelligence service is not supposed to advise the government if one of our elected representatives (or potential rep.) is a possible national security risk. Like that IS their job.
At the beginning of this, I was confident that the Chinese-Liberal problem was not systemic. Just some people here and there being impacted (whether intentional or not). But now, I'm starting to suspect that both party leaders just engage in this "don't ask, don't tell" approach to Chinese interference.

A full public Inquiry is required on the allegation of election meddling by China. This is important not only for the last Federal Election, but establishing what proactive measures should Canada take to avoid foreign interference in all public elections held in Canada.
Especially since there is no limit for how many terms a prime minister can serve in Canada.

Natuonal Public Inquiry needs to happen however not with friends of Trudeau making the inquiry & I doubt very much Trudeau got in on his own accord.
If the Rouleau report did not agree with the government's invocation of the emergencies act, we probably wouldn't be hearing about this alleged Chinese election interference, which is old news. Why is CSIS trying to obstruct the Rouleau report? What happened to it?
I think Gerald Butts sees the writing on the wall for Trudeau as even he is sounding a lot less partisan and discussed this subject without denigrating the Conservatives even once.

The NDP wants a public inquiry. Because a public inquiry is based on opinion and Trudeau can get off more easy. People should be pushing for a parliamentary inquiry. This will have more resources behind it to find out the truth.

Christine Anderson just intervened by reminding Canadian politicians how Islam can be used as political tool to divide in the most peculiar of ways. When I read about how Muslims in Russian Federation may be willing to revolt. The reason for sympathy with Muslims in the political elite becomes clearer.
