Sheikh Hasina's Election Rigging: Why Caretaker Government is the Only Path Forward for Bangladesh

  • The political situation in Bangladesh is at a stalemate as the ruling party, Awami League, plans to rig the upcoming election, while the main opposition, BNP, demands a neutral, nonpartisan caretaker government to ensure a fair election. The regime has politicised every institution in the country, including the judiciary, police, civil administration, and media, and has promoted corrupt personnel to important positions to ensure their vested interests. The US, EU, and UK want to see a free, fair, and inclusive election, whereas China and Russia are behind the current regime. If the international community does not pressure for a caretaker government, Sheikh Hasina will win by rigging the elections, as has happened in the past.

Addressing corruption and ensuring justice and free and fair elections are important goals in any democratic society. These issues are often at the forefront of public demands for good governance, transparency, and accountability. As a concerned citizen, you can play a role in advocating for these changes through peaceful and lawful means. Here are some actions you can consider:
Support Anti-Corruption Initiatives: Engage with or support organizations and initiatives that are dedicated to fighting corruption in Bangladesh. These organizations work to expose corruption, promote transparency, and hold corrupt individuals accountable.
Participate in Civil Society: Get involved in civil society organizations that work on issues related to justice, human rights, and good governance. These groups often play a vital role in advocating for change and holding governments accountable.
Advocate for Electoral Reforms: If you believe that electoral processes in Bangladesh need reform, engage with organizations and activists working on electoral transparency and fairness. Advocate for changes that promote free and fair elections.
Promote Voter Education: Educate yourself and others about the importance of participating in elections and making informed choices. Voter education can help ensure that citizens are empowered to make their voices heard through the democratic process.
Engage in Peaceful Protest: Participate in peaceful protests and demonstrations to raise awareness of your concerns and to call for the changes you seek. Ensure that any protests are conducted in accordance with the law and respect for public safety.
Use Social Media: Social media can be a powerful tool for raising awareness and mobilizing support for your causes. Share information responsibly and engage with like-minded individuals and organizations.
Contact Elected Representatives: Reach out to your elected representatives and express your concerns. They are there to represent your interests and can advocate for changes in government policy and practice.
Document and Share Information: If you have evidence of corruption or irregularities, consider sharing this information with relevant authorities or organizations dedicated to exposing corruption. Be sure to do so in a way that protects your safety and privacy.
Remember that achieving justice, transparency, and free and fair elections can be a long and challenging process. It often involves the collective efforts of citizens, civil society organizations, and international support. Be persistent, stay informed, and work towards positive change within the bounds of the law and democratic principles.

We want a free and fair election by caretaker government

    • @dmmasud7737
      @dmmasud7737 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The demand for a free and fair election conducted by a caretaker government is a significant and longstanding issue in many democratic societies, including Bangladesh. Caretaker governments are often seen as a mechanism to ensure impartiality and transparency in the electoral process. If you and others in Bangladesh are advocating for this, here are some steps you can consider:
Engage with Civil Society: Collaborate with civil society organizations and advocacy groups in Bangladesh that support the idea of a caretaker government for elections. Join their efforts, attend meetings, and contribute to their campaigns.
Raise Awareness: Use various platforms, including social media, public meetings, and community discussions, to raise awareness about the importance of a caretaker government for free and fair elections. Educate the public on the benefits of this system.
Petition and Advocate: Collect signatures for petitions advocating for a caretaker government and submit them to relevant authorities. Reach out to elected officials and political parties to express your concerns and demands.
Lobby International Support: Engage with international organizations, foreign governments, and diplomatic missions to garner support for free and fair elections in Bangladesh. Explain the significance of a caretaker government in ensuring transparency.
Participate in Peaceful Protests: Organize or participate in peaceful demonstrations and protests to draw attention to your cause. Ensure that these actions are carried out within the bounds of the law and prioritize safety.
Engage in Dialogue: Seek opportunities for constructive dialogue with government officials, political leaders, and other stakeholders to discuss the feasibility and benefits of a caretaker government system.
Legal Action: Explore legal avenues for advocating for electoral reforms, including the establishment of a caretaker government. Consult with legal experts and organizations that specialize in constitutional matters.
Build a Coalition: Form coalitions with like-minded individuals and organizations to amplify your advocacy efforts. A united front can have a more significant impact on decision-makers.
It's important to remember that advocating for significant political reforms can be a long and challenging process. It often requires sustained efforts, public support, and engagement with a variety of stakeholders. Additionally, respecting the principles of democracy and the rule of law is crucial throughout this advocacy process.

It's clear that you have strong feelings about the current political leadership in Bangladesh, particularly regarding allegations of corruption and human rights abuses. Addressing such concerns in a democratic society typically involves a combination of legal, political, and social processes. Here are some points to consider:
Legal Accountability: Accusations of corruption and human rights abuses should be thoroughly investigated, and individuals found guilty should face appropriate legal consequences through a fair and impartial judicial process. The legal system is an essential component of a functioning democracy.
Transparency and Accountability: Advocating for transparency and accountability in government institutions is crucial to combating corruption and preventing abuses of power. Civil society organizations, investigative journalism, and independent oversight bodies play vital roles in holding leaders accountable.
Political Engagement: Engaging in the democratic political process by participating in elections, supporting candidates who prioritize good governance and human rights, and advocating for political reforms can be avenues for bringing about change.
Peaceful Advocacy: Advocacy for change should always be conducted peacefully and within the boundaries of the law. Promoting dialogue, nonviolent protests, and public awareness campaigns can be effective means of advocating for reform.
International Scrutiny: Advocates can also seek international attention and support for issues of concern, including through international organizations, foreign governments, and human rights bodies.
It's essential to emphasize the importance of due process and the rule of law in addressing allegations of wrongdoing. Legal accountability mechanisms, when functioning effectively, are designed to ensure that individuals are held responsible for their actions based on evidence and legal standards.
Public sentiment and pressure can play a role in influencing political change, but it should always be channeled through peaceful and democratic means. The goal should be to promote a just and accountable society where all citizens are treated fairly under the law.

Dr. Muhammad Yunus is a precious asset of our Bangladesh but the current dictatorial government is harassing him in many ways and taking away his right to vote. We the common people want the downfall of this dictatorial government

    • @dmmasud7737
      @dmmasud7737 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Dr. Muhammad Yunus is indeed a well-respected figure in Bangladesh and internationally known for his pioneering work in microcredit and social entrepreneurship through the Grameen Bank. It's important to note that my knowledge is based on information available up to September 2021, and I do not have access to real-time developments. However, I can provide some general context based on the information available up to that point.
If there are allegations that Dr. Yunus is facing harassment or restrictions on his rights, it is a matter of concern. The treatment of prominent individuals and their involvement in political processes can be indicative of the broader political climate in a country.
In democratic societies, the protection of the rights and freedoms of all citizens, including the right to vote, is paramount. If there are concerns about the conduct of the government, it is essential for these concerns to be addressed through legal and democratic means, such as free and fair elections, the rule of law, and open dialogue.
Efforts to address political issues and grievances should ideally be conducted peacefully, within the framework of democratic institutions, and with respect for human rights and the rule of law. This often involves engagement with civil society, international organizations, and the diplomatic community to ensure that issues are raised and addressed transparently.
It is important for the people of Bangladesh to have a voice in their country's governance and to work toward the resolution of political disputes through peaceful and democratic means. Public opinion, civil society organizations, and the international community can all play roles in promoting dialogue and respect for democratic principles.

Because a government elected under a free fair election did the same (even perform worse in some instances) in the past. Therefore, a free fair election is not the solution in Bangladesh rather need qualitative changes in the whole political process and majority chudu Bangladeshi people first should change their mindset of impudence before any changes.

Why should BNP gain power? because they haven't looted in decades and are starving? Why is that? Both BAL and BNP are unable to overcome their own greed since they view their country as a cash cow. Path forward for Bangladesh! We Bangladeshis are the ones who are in misery. No one can help us out. because we are incapable of improving ourselves! We are rotten.

@@adnantex5058 Obviously people are free to decide. But it would have been foolish of me if I opposed him for wanting free fair elections. I never questioned him for that.
But calling the man who is residing in London a noble one (Faham said Flase made up charges are filled against him) is the statement I opposed sir.
I want a free fare election for my land. I have been encouraging my students to go vote and what not. I hope this time it is not only the 5% of voters who will go to vote. I wish more young voters cast their votes.

Recently I spoke with an awami league leader who admitted that he was part of the vote rigging process in 2018 but defending himself saying hasina will remain the prime minister until death because there is no other better alternative. He said in a fair election awami league will lose massively and they already know that, however for the good of the country they will not resign and forcefully keep the power. I also learnt from him hasina's son Joy is now living in singapore because he had serious problems in usa and several other big goverment people (including salman f rahman) are already barred from entering usa.

Your concerns about the need for a free, fair, participatory, and credible election in Bangladesh are shared by many around the world who value democracy and human rights. International support and engagement can play a significant role in promoting democratic processes and the rule of law. If you wish to see international involvement in addressing the situation in Bangladesh, you can consider the following steps:
Engage with Diplomatic Channels: Reach out to the U.S. embassy or consulate in Bangladesh and express your concerns. Diplomatic missions serve as a direct channel for communication between citizens and their government.
Petition International Organizations: Advocate for the involvement of international organizations, such as the United Nations or relevant regional organizations, in monitoring and facilitating the electoral process in Bangladesh.
Contact Your Representatives: If you reside in a country outside Bangladesh, contact your elected representatives and inform them of your concerns. Elected officials often have the ability to raise issues and advocate for action on the international stage.
Leverage Social Media and Online Advocacy: Use social media and online platforms to draw attention to the situation in Bangladesh. Engage with like-minded individuals, organizations, and influencers to build a wider network of supporters.
Raise Awareness: Organize or participate in awareness campaigns and peaceful protests both domestically and internationally to draw attention to the situation in Bangladesh.
Support Civil Society: Back and support civil society organizations and NGOs that are working toward democracy, human rights, and good governance in Bangladesh. These organizations often have international partners and networks.
Encourage International Media Coverage: Share information and stories related to the situation in Bangladesh with international media outlets to increase awareness.
It's important to approach these actions peacefully and within the bounds of the law. International involvement in the affairs of a sovereign nation is a complex issue, and decisions regarding such involvement are made through diplomatic and international channels. Your efforts can contribute to raising awareness and building international support for your cause, but it may take time and persistence to achieve meaningful change.

Displaying an extreme rigidity against an election organised by a free, fair, and impartial caretaker government is a testament to the presence of 'Bakshal' in her DNA, which, unfortunately, she can't help.
She holds a deep-seated grudge against the people of Bangladesh due to the incident that took place on 15 August 1975, as many of her statements reveal. The sooner we comprehend this, the better it will be for us and our future generations.
