What a load of negative comments. Just be thankful that someone has taken the time to upload this film. I enjoyed it and grateful that there are people who present good quality uploads.
Housebound due to a chronic illness I live through these old films. This one was new to me. Thanks for posting it and Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah to you! 🎅
@@NancySanders-om4ic It just seemed like the right thing to do. Hope you had a truly great one. And thatvwe can all keep the Christmas spirit all year lomg. Wouldn't that be someting? Thank you for acknowledging the greetings. 🎅🎄🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌
Interesting noiresque storyline. Not bad for a series movie. I managed to make it through to the end so it was worth watching. I may try another "Whistler" story someday.
O.K. Folks. This is a crime/mystery but it is NOT, I repeat NOT 'Film Noir.' IT is based on an old radio show called 'The Whistler', in the days before television. That is why you hear the whistling in this and see a mans shadow. It was a very good program, and held our fascination every weekend. If I remember correctly it was a half an hour long. There were many excellent radio shows back to back.
You snuck the fact that this was a "Whistler" movie episode in on me cuz nowhere was it mentioned until the opening credits passed by in very fine print!!! I will try it, but I am Not a fan of series movies. You got one over on me so I will give it a go as long as I can stand it!!! Not fair representation!!

Excellent film noir mystery! 👏 Thank you for sharing.
Mysterious movie thanks for posting this on you tube 😮😮😮😅😅😅😅
This movie kind of reminded me of the old Dick Tracy movies.. love it!
Great Movie 🎬 I Love A Good Mystery 👍
William Castle specialized in the bizarre and unexpected movie ending. Just as soon as I saw his name as director, I knew I had to see this one.

Great movie
Director William Castle was reportedly one of the rare people Columbia head honcho Harry Cohn actually liked.
Released April 16th,1946
Just realized I'd seen it. Good movie.
Watched a year ago, watching again!
Nice movie
The Whistler!
At 15 1/2 minutes I sure was disappointed to see that the detective was completely dishonest
Not dishonest but being a detective.
😊

@18:47, Dix hardly glances at the road while driving. In the movies I've seen him in, I can't say I ever saw him actually act.
Yes, he’s not very good - and this from someone who’s only just seen him for the first time!
Richard Dix is cool and unique. I love him in anything. Ghost Ship is great
I wish channel owners would give a short synopsis of the film. Really annoys me when they can’t be bothered.
You can find a synopsis of every film online, just use a search engine to find it! 🤣
Like not bothering to use Wikipedia to look up said synopsis
.
2:57 incarico 58:00 finale
Please introduce the movie.
Really annoying when they can’t be bothered, isn’t it?
Poor ending and I am tired of cigarette smoking
Then stop smoking
47:35 And both actors meet, off to the 3 Stooges
I thought I didn't like Whistler, but watched anyway. Now I know why and will never watch or listen to another . . . Too negative
