How alike we all are !! I loved your tour and the feeling that individual people have so much in common all around the world. If only our leaders and governments could know how much we desire calm and peace.
Anyway, enjoyed your video and hello from USA.

A free hug from Berlin. You're very well organised. You've made the best out of it. Neighbours can be a problem. I invited my enemies for tea and cakes and turned them into friends. While having some lovely chats with them I told them how awfully nice they are - yes a little lie - and that I often hear other neighbours' TV. They must have understood my message. Now everything is quiet for Berlin standards. Mrs Kondo opened my eyes. Through things away if you really don't need them.

That's not bad for $500 bucks. A Few questions:
    1. This organizing of everything is EXTREME! Is this normal? Or is this more of a cultural thing?
    2. Is Heating and electricity is included? I have heard that Heating is usually central or building wide.
    3. Do you have Cable , Fiber, DSL or Wireless for Internet? How much is it & Speeds?
    4. Is this what you call a Studio apartment? I did not see a bedroom.
    5. How much is the Natural Gas prices and bills for using it as it looks like a gas stove?
    6. Is the water heated per apartment? Or by a water heater in each unit?
    7. Is air conditioning needed in the summer months?
About your area of Russia. How far do you have to get out in order to get the really cheap apartments and houses? I heard that the people make as little as $219 for a pension from their retirement. With the average salary being around 35,000 Rubbles per month. ( $500 ) How do people afford to live there?
    Thank you!

Okay, I'm not from there, not even living there but it's not hard to answer your questions, generally.
      1) when you don't have a very large space, everything needs to be tidy. One day without cleaning might produce a domino effect of smaller messes which is later going to be hard to get rid of. It's a thing for anyone except western countries, particularly North American lifestyle, because they are got used to very large houses over which it's very easy to lose control, especially if you have very many things.
      2) they have central heating by hot water, sometimes as a system that is meant for several buildings (block of few ones) and sometimes for one large building. In this kind of blocks she showed, it's from soviet era and very sturdy and efficient. It also answers #6. Electricity and heating are extremely low cost fee in comparison to Europe, and from what I've learned very poor people have no problem catching up with such bills, unlike in EU.
      3) I don't know for her but I've heard from a Russian who resides in St Petersburg, they in appartment have unlimited traffic high speed Internet with WiFi for family for 8 euros per month. They don't call it "flat rate", they call it "normal unlimited", because most of people have that anyway. I asked why is that normal, so cheap, and such a good option,... Answer was: "Well, you know Russia is a country of hackers? Don't you think they need good conditions? 😂" I got a feeling, even if something is currently not good, russian IT experts working in legal area of IT would fix it.
      4) Soviet standard was 1 room apartment. In that case that room is everything, and is being transformed from living room in the day, into bedroom in the night. She says this was a "guestroom", probably to simplify it. Nowadays Russian standard of newly built apartment blocks is higer, 2 or 3 rooms, especially in larger cities. You choose what you want to use them for. Among communist countries highest standard of living used to have Yugoslavia, where yugoslav standard of rooms number was 2 or 3 rooms. There in 2 room apartments, living room is still to be transformed into bedroom at night (sofas which open up into a bed), while the second room becomes children's room. In case of 3 room apartment, living room can be a full time living room and third room is master bedroom. This is how they separate things nowadays in new standard in Russia as well.
      5) I don't know their exact prices but I've heard gas is so insanely cheap there that who has things running on gas literally can be unemployed and still somehow can pay for it. But not everyone has that kind of installations because it's not particularly needed, due to central heating being mostly provided by water heating systems. The bottles of liquid gas can be purchased separately if one wishes for, and this is also a thing in some parts of Europe.
      7) Europe in general doesn't use air conditioning, it's extremely rare anyone owns it, even in very warm countries like Spain. Russian summers are less warm than in Mediterranean, for sure, except for in southern parts. I bet they wouldn't give money on something so "useless" either way. This is more Northern American thing. Bussiness spaces often have air conditioning, but schools and old hospitals never do, and this is a repeated pattern in so many countries. Hospitals do have some weird advanced old architecture that naturally protects from heat though, very thick walls or whatever. This is how you'll find it across most of southern, south Eastern, Eastern part of Central and Eastern Europe (Including Russia).
      8) People own their own apartments, which means they won't pay that rent they (these you tubers) are paying. And they are paying it because they are young and can't afford to have their own appartment yet. Since they are young and can afford this rent price, it means they earn far more than that what you wrote. Taxes on apartments in Russia are similar to some countries of south Eastern Europe which aren't in EU - extremely small. There are such places where tax for ownership of an apartment doesn't exceed 3 euros per year. Don't forget some people inherit apartments from their parents and grandparents. And that it was possible to get a free housing by the government in times of Soviet Union. All in all, it's not impossible someone has an appartment and never had to work or pay for it. Not particularly unseen in south-eastern Europe too.
PS: never forget that what you perceive as low income does not necessarily mean low buying power in that particular country. If everything what you need is affordable with that income, you find out you don't need a high income afterall. It's harder to save some money on the side, though, in cases income covers most of the needs and that's it, that's true.
