The pink rice cooker was like the final middle finger Mutaito gave to King Piccolo, as if to say, "Rot away for eternity in this cute-looking modern home appliance of a prison!"
@6:19 "But Goku said it should have been him." The reason why is because Goku was originally going to go and pick up his stuff, but Krillin said Nah, I got it, and got killed for it.
In the japanese version it's not a magical device Piccolo is sealed in but instead just a normal rice cooker with a Ofuda stuck on top. Ofuda is a piece of paper you write sum kanji on and then place somewhere to keep evil and stuff away. Kinda like a fortune talisman thingy. This works as a magic seal in this show so the vessel doesn't really matter. The wise master picking a pink electronic rice cooker with a bunny pattern to seal away the king of evil is so perfectly dragon ball lol
Again, that's so weird. The German Dub just calls it a rice cooker (because it obviously is) ... Why did the English Dub think, it is necessary to turn that normal ass rice cooker, into a mystical magical device? xD
As you know, this world is weird! There are lots of technological anachronisms. We see almost sci-fi cars and buildings in West City, (Where Bulma and her parents are from), yet more contemporary surroundings elsewhere, and ancient and very traditional modes of living elsewhere. But while THAT isn't so strange, what is, is that for 'centuries' electrical devices and vehicles like rice cookers, electric lights, and submarines as seen in the underwater pirate cave, have existed. Anyway, centuries ago, King Piccolo was sealed away in an electric rice cooker; a joke for a household device capable of holding a demon. At least with a magic seal affixed to it. Yeah! We find Roshi and Shen were fellow students!
13:09 When you said that i was like "OH if only you KNEW what kind of goofballs found it" I think it's just so ironic how the biggest jokes of the show brought back the biggest threat we know so far
@NealMarchuk That makes sense. He probably keeps that wig as a reminder of his mentor, just like how Goku keeps the 4 star ball as a reminder of his grandpa.
I forgot that Pilaf was the one who set him free. I was thinking that the Red Ribbon army accidentally did it when Blue was down there at the bottom of the sea.
@@nataliereeves3594yes. At this point. There hasn't been anything leading to think anything else. @@cavejohnson4054 Well first, the manga doesn't make that distinction. It is all called Dragonball.
