Meanwhile they have tacked on enormous fees for cleaning. Many citing COVID as the reason for the added on expense. What a racket.

Man this one hits really close to home. I work for a Marriott in Missouri and while the property I work at isn't as large and we've been able to keep most of our staff, we've definitely seen other hotels shut down or just do the same as these Hilton hotels. I work the front desk and I'm always hearing from the guests about the states of some of the hotels and when you really think about what the lack of features and amenities mean at some of these hotels it sucks. Especially security-wise.

I am a Hilton Diamond Member for 7 years and I have noticed the decline of rooms at Hilton. The rugs are filthy and the rooms are dated. It's evident management is using COVID as an excuse for not having the rooms cleaned daily. Shame on the CEO! I am going to HYATT. It's apparent that Hilton management is pocketing money for themselves.

I agree, big corporate company should be make big time improvements for their laborers, appreciate their service worker as well as their guests. Appreciation that the people doing their hard labor muscle / chemical exposures for the housekeepers , bending up n down to clean suits, it’s a lot for the human body. My suggestions insurance should be given for them complimentary and also more travel offer to experience god precious 🌎

Let me guess the cost saving in this case will not be pushed to consumers. Funny how that works. When costs increase it's an immediate surcharge to consumers. But, without daily room cleaning the hotel is probably saving at minimum $20 bucks per room not cleaned\services. Even if you wanted they would not give you daily room service unless you are willing to go somewhere else and even then most Motels\Hotels do not offer daily services any longer. This trend is across the board and it will not change unless consumers walk with their $$$s

If I'm correct, this refers to guest that stay over move than one night. Rooms still get cleaned however if you stay over you have to request. This reduces contact with the guest personal items. Honestly I'm finding that in most entry level jobs nowadays the pay will not support living expenses. Either raise the pay or regulate rent. Also there has been a huge cultural shift. Foreigners who become managers cut hours when they don't have the same standard of living that Americans are use to. They really hating. They hire their own kind. It's a mess. I could go on and on...

They don't expect women to be able to take care of themselves. I've heard comments like... You don't have any responsibility or so you want the floor all to your self? My hours got cut by a Jamaican manager who won't hire Americans on the night shift. Some of these managers and owners got into position during the pandemic and are under qualified for their positions. I came back to hospitality after running my own business for 20 year and it's like a horror show. Foreigners don't have the same cleanliness standards and practices. It's why people are getting sick. No diss... Just the truth...

I had a relative in eastern Washington who'd worked as a housekeeping manager, and she said that some east Indians took over the Super 8, and then they hire undocumented workers, pay them the minimum, and threaten to turn them in to Immigration and Detention if they complain about anything. Don't know how many places in Wash State have gone this way. In the era of the 1%, it's hard workers at the bottom that are really getting the shaft, and the Supreme Court has weakened (over 30 years) the power of unions to organize and collectively bargain for working groups like this.
It's like friggin' Jeff Bezos and his dangerous Amazon warehouses, and Elon Musk, who threatened to take his Tesla plant out of Calif because of the Covid lockdown. They are all greedy losers, and I hope the TV news people never try to show me a "tourist" space flight as "news" again. 500,000 people signed a petition saying that they wanted Bezos left up in space!
