I love Christmas in Australia. Although I was born in the UK and the first few years in Oz felt a bit strange as a kid, I love that everyone is outside having fun. My Christmas is a mish mash of British, Australia, Indian and a little bit of Irish tradition due to our family mix and it is awesome, will then go see my sister in law an it will be full on Italian Australian and the common theme is everyone will be outside in the warmth getting stuffed! Will be doing same Kris Kringle (although ours is called Secret Santa) and it will be so much fun!

A very accurate portrayal of xmas / xmas lunch in Australia including the bunch of esky's.

What a great day. I have my Magpies and Butcher Birds that fly in for a snack each day at my home in Kalamunda.
Kookaburras always hang around when families are having outdoor feast, for the opportunity to steel food out of your hands, or off the hotplate itself.
    Have a Merry Christmas.

Kris Kringle. It’s been a Xmas tradition for decades. The first time I experienced it was for a Xmas lunch at my first job. Everyone purchased a small gift under a set $value ($5-$20 over the years). You wrap it but put no name on it and then everyone selects a gift other than their own at the firm’s Xmas lunch. We knew ahead of time if we were purchasing for a male or female (blue or pink raffle ticket for each staff member). I purchased a neoprene wine bottle skin and a set of two friction powered race cars and the males at their table were having a ball with the 🚙 🚗 Similar to “Secret Santa” but you don’t get given a name and nowadays the gift is usually non-gender specific so more of a Kris Kringle.

Leave the girl alone mate. She moved to America at a young age, so she has nothing to do with you people. Nobody leaves a lesser country for a better one just so they can be part of that lesser country. You Aussies have a habit of desperately claiming stuff that ain't yours.

Over here in the UK having Christmas in Australia would be considered a ridiculous idea. Nice to see your parents had the sense to have you raised in a civilized country rather than Australia.
