COVID-19: Montreal a deserted, silent metropolis that looks like a ghost town.
As Montreal begins to lose its snow cover in early spring, passers-by were much less numerous than usual on normally busy arteries. In fact, on the streets of Old Montreal, usually crowded with tourists from all over the place, we can only perceive Montrealers who came to take fresh air. Place Jacques Cartier was practically deserted. Even if there were a few of them walking outside, the only activity still recommended by public health outside their home, everyone still kept a social distance.
