I think Ronnie Mitchell was such an underrated character. So complex, tough and tragic. I wish they never killed her off. Samantha Womack what an actress!
I agree. Shes molded by everything that happened to her, and even though phil mitchell really never was far off she scared the sh*t out of him. Hes only indirectly caused deaths but shes done it with her bare hands more than once.
I don't even know if we can call her a sociopath. She was never devoid of empathy, and she actually carried immense guilt for the wrongs she did much of the time. Despite her talk of being capable of destroying people, not caring who or what she had to burn to protect the people loved, she never truly succeeded in not caring about the things she did to achieve what she believed she needed to do. It's sad though. If you told 2007 Ronnie the things she'd go on to do, I think she'd be pretty appalled. She didn't want to be like Archie. She wanted to be better than him. She was damaged, but was a pretty normal person when we first meet her. She'd lie and manipulate to protect herself and her loved ones, but she had a moral compass. It wasn't until life was continuously cruel to her she began to break down and become darker. By the time she died, she was reversing that, becoming the person she always wanted to be. She was loved. She had a family and she was going to spend the rest of her life loving them. Instead she died, and it's incredibly tragic.
Ronnie was a great character when she was first in Eastenders she was damaged and always upset but when she returned in 2013 she became darker because she lost Danielle and James and what her dad Archie did to her it messed her head up
I’m currently watching the reruns of EE on BBC IPlayer of 2008-2011 and all of those years something traumatic happened to Ronnie, in 2008 Archie made his first appearance and caused chaos stirring up bad memories from her childhood, 2009 by far the worst year for her ever Danielle died and Archie was at his most evil then he died, in 2010 we all found out that Archie raped her and James is born and a day later dies so on New Year’s Eve she takes Tommy and finally in 2011 she was sent to prison for stealing Kat and Alfie’s baby, then years after that more traumatising stuff happened to her, the strongest women to ever of lived on EastEnders.
I love her so much, she's the reason why I watch EastEnders, her Roxy, Peggy, Phill and kat, Danielle, Archie, Michael, Dennis, Sharon, Stacey, Zoey, Charlie these all the reasons why I watched EastEnders
Ronnie did some truly terrible things in her life, but she was put through hell since she was a young teen, and she continuously fought back, defended and protected the people she loved, and deserved a lot better than to die so young, after finally finding a bit of happiness.
Ronnie was the real deal of the Mitchell's as she took out Carl White really the show should have had her replace Phil as the main gangster of the family as she actually had the guts to take out people who were threats to her and her family whereas Phil just shits himself.
