You look just as cool as that guy in the advertisement in back of Popular Mechanics magazine 40 years ago! I was just a kid but knew if I could get one of those dozers I could go into business big time! I ended up with a pair of D-8H’s. Sure looks fun!
I've got this ones little brother, a mini-dozer model 1612; respect it fully and this thing will run circles around any it's size or something bigger, but one wrong move; and you've got a nice repair bill, and that's if you do the work yourself
No. Not even close. I had a Deere 870 back in the 90's. It was gear not a hydro. I'm own a 2006-or-so 3320 now, full hydro drive, and can not imagine going backward to a dinosaur like these people on those dopey little things. The videos are amusing but they seem to like them as a hate it thing. The $25k model seems more useable but only for a few tasks. I have noticed they are always defensive if you say anything negative. Probably some have had their fatal heart attack down at the diner during morning coffee when another old timer compared his snow blower was faster.
I bought it so many years ago that I don't remember. I think it was in the 2K range. If you do a search you can still find them for sale new, but they cost a lot.
