Can't belive the number of buttholes that wanted to hate on this video for one thing or another. I thought you did an awsome job, and I love the machine comparison. I have wanted a magna track for YEARS. Thanks for the video.
Not meaning to bash anyone here, especially Dugstuff, but did anyone seriously expect tires to give tracks any real competition. Great video and if all you have is tire equipment it can do the job, it just takes more planning. I use a Kubota 55 horse with a six foot bucket quite a bit so I know how challenging a tire equipped tractor can be. Thumbs up for a great video.
Each machine did as much as it could ,the Cadets would have finished the job but taken a lot longer time . The magna track of course was a level or two above the others , I think to max the buckets capacity it seemed it needed a bit more weight in the back to make it more stable .
As was stated before, all good machines. The key point is to size your equipment for the use and to not over work it. Case in point, you should have had a smaller bowl with the smaller Cub. Additionally, pair the right implement to the machine. I'm not trying to hash on you at all, tho it probably sounds like it, so if so I am sorry. It was a very good video for comparisons. 👍👍
The comparison was real. Cubs rule, got one. Naturally the tracks would do best. But the old mags were always fron heavy till they got their head out and moved attachment points back and added weight were needed. But all three would have done better with someone that knows how each one should be run, and raise blade and bucket on revets8 stroke unless your back dragging to see where your at on leveling ! My measly two pennies !
I know the Struck Magnatracs are stupid expensive, but it would be nice to see how something like the RS1000 or MD196K with blades would've done. Unfortunately they discontinued the loader for the RS1000 for now.
I’ve purchased the Struck Magnatrac MH8500 fully loaded, $48K delivered to an ABF Freight yard. There’s a 24.8HP Kubota diesel under the hood, plenty of power for the size of the machine. In comparison, I’d gotten a quote for a John Deere tractor of similar engine power, the 3033R, with backhoe, front end loader, and snow blower- at $75K. Pound for pound, I’d say the Struck machine is on par with the Deere, for half the cost. My ‘Trac, fully loaded with all the goodies I’d wanted, for about the same price as the Deere 3033R with nothing on it but the name. No disrespect to the John Deere family, they’re a significantly larger company, and have a much larger corporate footprint. Hence the higher costs.
First off... Good job Sweet pea!! Good video. Pretty much performed as I thought with the exception of the Magnatrac... which did better than I thought with what I figure was a 12 hp. engine. I thought it might be struggling a bit more than it was. Thanks!!
Hence why struck doesn't sell one on their tracked vehicles till you get to contractor size tracked vehicles. It only ways 575 lb if it is the one I'm thinking
When you put a tracked vehicle up against a wheeled ( 2 or 4 wheeled drive) the tracked vehicle will do the job quicker. It is due to the ground force effect of the tracks.
see how the tracked one runs all over the tire one,,see its really only one wheel drive on the rubber tires and then that one tire gets about 20 % traction,,the rubber tire cant compete with the tracks man,,good video

I like the headache rack on the 2nd one, but man that looked intimidating , one hard bounce and kablam, your head would be split lol I thought about putting one on one of mine , now I am unsure about that ! great video thanks for posting !!!! who knew shit could be so interesting one small tip for you that you might already know , a man told me the only thing bad about the magna tracks , is if you are in reverse going up hill , do not turn or you can break an axle , he had a couple so I would assume he knew what he was talking about .
Thanks for the tip on the Magntrac. I've never broken an axle but have had the tracks come off when backing and turning with a load in the bucket. And I have never hit my head on the roll bar on the 106 and I have bounced it pretty well.
Why do so many feel the need to max the throttle no matter what they are doing with a tractor. You'll move more material when you find the right rpm/gear balance
Max hp is 3600 - 3800rpm and these engine are designed to run all day long at that rpm. I do agree that when not working them you don't need to run them at that. But when working them you should. Plus the Cub 123 is a hydro and it would be actually be damaging to the hydo to work it hard at a lower rpm.
Very good comparison! Yep, I'm jealous too - 3 nice machines. I've been thinking a bit about getting the Struck. I see they have 2 sizes. The larger MT8000 size seems far more capable with over 4xs the weight and vastly sized engine but the price is huge. ---- Any thoughts about a Struck in general versus something like Kabota 25hp or better sized 30+hp machine ? Thanks!
Im in the same spot you were in back then. Did you end up buying the Struck? I bought property in the mountains and I like the power from the bigger sized tractors but I like the compactness and size of the struck. mh4900. Any insight would be helpful.
@@chazthedad3543 No Chaz, I did not buy it. Instead, we ended up getting an LS 45 hp tractor with a front loader and backhoe 4 wheel drive. Felt too nervous about something so different and unique, so went "more-the-norm". Actually glad we did as it is many times larger of course, and has been very useful for us. We have some woods and it has been great to move logs and messes around, to plow snow once in a while (have a snowblower for that normally), and reaching up fairly high with the front loader (I've been up in it cutting tree limbs and other things while wife operates tractor). -----Hope this helps you Chaz! I like that you have an actual loader on yours tho. Pretty nice man good job demonstrating the differences in weight and pushing power with those 3 machines
Your tracked machine is cool and can push the most for obvious reason. I for one would of taken my time with the second piece of equipment so my yard did not get ripped up.
The Magnatracs seem like they are pretty basic. I have a similar machine called a Pittsbull. It is about the size of the magnatrac but is hydra stat drive. It has a 30hp diesel and weighs 3 tons. It has 12” wide tracks with grousers.
@@kristopherbuchanan974 because it doesn't exist and he is a troll. Or not English as his first language which makes finding this equipment just as hard. Struck is the only one to make a small at home use tracked tractor.
The only thing I hate about those magnatrack units is that it's like the designers have zero sense of reality. Even their dozer blade is tiny. They build this big tracked machine then have tiny implements. The bucket you have isn't even the width of the tracks. What good is a bucket that's narrower than the tracks? When you were pushing the manure the narrow bucket had the one track riding up on the pile which put the machine and loader at an angle creating an uneven bed. The blade on the smallest tractor you used is wider than both buckets on the bigger tractors and the bigger wheeled tractor had a wider bucket than the magnatrack. As far as material moved the Magnatrack was fastest, the bigger cub was second and the small cub was third. As far as finished quality, levelness the order is opposite. The blade did best even with the small tractor size. The bucket on the larger cub is at least the width of the tires so you got a level push. The Magna track while moving the material fastest would take the longest to get a nice landscape and level. I would never buy a Magnatrack. The last thing you should have to do with new equipment is modify the obvious right out of the box. While I have seen Magnatracks with full width loaders they'll have manual dump instead of hydraulics. For the kind of money they are charging for these machines such massive and obvious oversights would scare the shit out of me thinking about having to repair and maintain the rest of the machine. Magnatrack seems to be a company happy with the phrase "good enough" and that phase has been the cause for every repair or maintenance task that resulted in a mechanic's dreams of ill will for the designer.
