Kubota B2261 Compact Tractor with Front Mounted Flail Mower Peruzzo Scorpion 1400

This video shows the combination of the Kubota B2261 with the front mounted Peruzzo Scorpion 1400A Flail Mower.
The Kubota B2261 is a model 2020 compact tractor with 26hp from the B2 professional series from Kubota in Europe. The Peruzzo Scorpion 1400A flail mower is delivered by Kubota Europe for front side mounting on the Kubota compact tractors.
In this video the combination is presented and some first experiences and review is given. The flail mulcher capability of this mower is very good.

Interesting. I like to see kubota tractors that are offered in other countries. It looks similar in size to a B2650 or new for 2020 the LX2610.

The B2261 is indeed the European version of the B2650 or now the LX2610 with the D1305 engine. In the past the B2650 was also a type version that was used in Europe, but Kubota Europe changed this into the B2 series followed by their horsepower in the type of indication. There are also the BX and B1 versions which are smaller.

Wish I could get wheels/tires like those on an LX2610 in the US. It seems like in the US the tractors have oversized rear tires and undersized front tires on these B sized compact tractors. Would like something very turf friendly like these...

When you order a new Kubota B series tractor in Europe, you can choose from 3 tire types: agricultural, garden-pro and lawn. I decided to go for the general purpose garden-pro tire, but the lawn tires are larger, wider with smaller profile and more lawn friendly.

I have an LX2610SU and would love to add a front PTO. Is this one hydraulically powered, or powered via a mid-PTO? If it is the latter, mine does not have a mid-PTO, so that is out. Also, did you add the amber beacon to your ROPS? If so, can you give me the part number for the switch that you used? I can only find the red hazard, green work lights and amber DPF switches. I added a beacon to my LX2610SU and just used an OEM hazard switch, but would like the one that is on your tractor. Thank you and great videos!

Thanks. The front hitch and front PTO have their own hydraulic system.
The mid-PTO is still also present on my Kubota.
I looked for the part number of the amber switch on my bill from the online store, but they didn't show it. I will check if I can still find it somewhere else.

@@whiteblackbird8494 ik heb nog even getwijfeld tussen mechanisch en hydrostaat. Uiteindelijk toch voor de hydrostaat gekozen. Maakt iets meer lawaai, maar erg gebruiksvriendelijk. Ik gebruik zowel een front klepelmaaier alsook een achter-cirkelmaaier. Daar wil ik ook nog een video' tje over maken om de verschillen en voor en nadelen te laten zien.

Er is over de Kubota B2261 en de bijpassende maaiers eigenlijk heel weinig te vinden op TH-cam. Wel veel Amerikaanse video's, maar dat gaat over andere modellen. Alle info is daarom zeer welkom.

I am using b2231 with coala peruzzo 1200. How would You compare peruzzo to scorpion? Is scropion more strong?

The Peruzzo Scorpion is a flail mower from Peruzzo that is mounted at the front side of the tractor. So you need to have both a front hitch and PTO In order to be able to mount it.
Because of the shape: smaller tractor at the rear with wide flail mower at the front and the two wheels sticking out at the side, a scorpion shape is retrieved.
I don't think there is a lot of difference between the drive systems of the rear sided Koala and front sided Scorpion, since they are both from Peruzzo. It is just a matter of functionality and preference.
The advantage of a front sided flail mower is the direct sight on the mowing device and that the mower is the first device that is going over the vegetation. This way you don't flatten the grass with the wheels of your tractor just before mowing, or damage your tractor because of the rough bush underneath it.
With a rear mounted device you first drive over the vegetation before you mow it or drive backwards in case of rough bushes.
The disadvantage of a front mounted mower on a normal compact tractor with the steering wheels at the front is the larger turning radius of the combination. That is why these special mowing vehicles have the turning wheels at the backside.

@@prestonfaust4267 I don't see why. First of all, these are all original Kubota parts and easy to replace. Secondly, the hitch and Zuidberg PTO are robust and well designed, so I don't expect them to break easily.

Buy yourself a Ventrac and you will never be disappointed. They are the King of Front mounted attachments and the best in the industry in grass mowing. Unless your in need of high loader work I’d never get a subcompact. The Ventrac is superior in ever way. This is a cool attachment for the Kutobta(I’ll give them that).

I dunno how a Kubota B series can have a PTO on the front. Kubota does not offer this on their B series tractors in Australia. Having the mower out front makes a lot of sense.

Lantana, woody weeds of various species. An out front mower or mulcher would mean less wear and tear on the tractor mowing scrub. The only machines sold here I know that can do it are Kubota F and Iseki SF mowers. These machines are basically little tractors set in reverse with the big wheels at the front along with the PTO and linkages.

@@kdegraa I looked up the Australian Kubota F-mower. It seems like a rotary finishing mower. These type of mowers are much less suitable and robust for woody weeds compared to a flail mower. With a flail mower you can even choose to have special heavy duty flail hammer blades for cutting thick bushes.
