I'm new to Dremels, but this thing has been great. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR The variable speed is awesome and the cordless aspect makes it so easy to work with. I am constantly finding uses for it that make tasks easier. Recently I put in a new deadbolt on one of our doors. I knew I had to enlarge the hold where the deadbolt goes into the door frame. At first I thought I would have to get a big router and figure out how to use it for that, but then I rermembered we have the dremel. I was able to enlarge the hole almost as easy as if I was drawing with a pen. It's also great for grinding our dog's nails done and so many other household tasks.

Just bought my first Dremel drill this week and started carving today. I have a looooong way to go but it's so engrossing and fun to do. I'd like to do some Christmas ornaments and a walking stick for a buddy that had his stolen from his front porch. He used it for morel hunting. Anyway I think this is fantastic!

I am new to carving jt got the D. 3000 4 xmas! I was completely mesmerized by this video & the way u carve. Amazing! I can't wait to see more of ur videos. Great wood spirit!!! 👍👍👍 It seems your go to burr to start your wood spirit is a cone shape. What brand, size, and roughness do you use? And I think you finished with a slot mandrel with maybe self adhesive sandpaper? I carved a wood spirit last weekend out of a branch from my next door neighbor’s dead aspen he fell about a month ago. I got the nose way too thin 🙄. Do you have a website or other means I could upload a picture for you to see? Thanks so much for making these great videos for us all.

If you still haven't gotten around to this, I'd suggest using a pencil first, then the dermal... Might take a little longer, but I bet the result will be better.
