- One of my favorite things to do is call scammers using different accents from different parts of the world. And in today's video I call up some PayPal scammers while pretending to be an Indian man who claims he has received a charge on his account.

Really this doesn't surprise me that some of the scammers accepted Deyo's fake accent, Indians scam other Indians.
Unfortunately they scam anyone. We could say the same thing about American scammers that scam other Americans.

Yeah, I think it was the bank. There were some buttons that didn't work. Nothing on it says VM anymore so I think that might have been it.

Why does every scammer sound the same in every scam baiting video I see?
I have a hard time telling them apart unless they "transfer" me to another one. Usually I can tell the difference then but they all have that nasal sound to me lol

As for your accent, it's more like central indian (Maharashtra, maybe Delhi) more than East Indian.

East Indian is just how some people refer to desis, as opposed to West Indian. it doesn't mean from East of India

Yeah, when I say East Indian it's only to differ from West Indian (which I can also do) and not necessarily that it was the East part of India. It's just how I grew up...with those terms.

Nice one Deyo 👍 Great Baiting. They seem to have sussed you about half way in the bait. You could hear there tone slowing down and getting suspicious. They somehow found you using a VM. Surely theres a way to hide your VM. Fellow scam baiter JB shared how you could hide your vm.

The issue was with the bank account...the VM didn't have anything that could show it was a VM. They went to do something on the bank account and couldn't and that's what spooked them.

I love that the scammers view the use of a virtual machine as suspicious! I've used virtual machines as my daily workstations since 2004! But for reasons other than messing with scammers...
It's awesome because I can abstract the VM from the underlying hardware, providing me with the ability to sync copies of that VM between different hardware and different locations (work, home and cloud).
Local, remote, online, nearline and offline backups are all super easy. Including the keeping of numerous periodical automated snapshots.
Full recovery from failed hardware is ultra quick.
It's really awesome for development and recovering from either hardware or software issues.

Just a note - No Indian will ever call "nothing" like "nutting", the 'TH" sound is pronounced with a lot of emphasis, like a hard 'th'' sound.
