when you look inside the green tunnel from Cromwell Ln _ down the centre line is there rebar for a concrete wall separating the running tracks _ it hasn't changed for sometime _ I don't know?_is this when the tunnel gets it closed permanent roof structure and then re filled with soil _ don't expect to see much progress until the new bridge is completed over Cromwell Ln and that section towards Kenilworth is completed _ I do see progress through towards Berkswell station & the structure over the rail line _ keep the videos coming
I see the underpass for the Greenway to pass under Cromwell Lane is already in position for the re-diversion of the road back to its original position.
If you would like a launch pad site suitable for carrying on the footage of the line, you are more than welcome to use our place. We are right by the Park Lane compound. In Balsall Common
@@GHancock that's a very kind offer, thanks! I launch from a field off the Greenway currently, close to Burton Green, which works well. I could theoretically go a little further towards Birmingham before I meet the no fly zone of BHX, but to be honest I struggle to find the time to do the 3 sections I've done this last weekend 😅
@@mikekwarner no problem, just let me know if you find more time, I’ve put my drone up over the site but haven’t the confidence to fly too far for fear of losing it
@@GHancock my routes are automated through the use of Litchi (an app you can buy on your phone which also has a website where you can design your routes). Before I set off, I ride the length of the routes on the Greenway to make sure there are no obstructions then just press Go. Got to still keep an eye on things, but it makes it much easier to get consistent footage and prevents human error.
You should be able to make a nice composite video of this stretch of heavy engineering as the years pass by, showing its origins as a greenway set amongst trees in the formation of a derelict railway, through the ongoing spectacle of an open wound with the concrete bones showing goodness knows what, water permanently filling the earthworks either intentionally or not, onward to its amazing transformation into a greenway set amongst trees in the formation of a derelict railway undercut by a tunnel carrying a proposed railway already obsolete before it is finally completed, to its premature abandonment and transformation into another greenway
In the absense of music, here's good listening around the time of the original railways transport, instead of horse th-cam.com/video/Rb0UmrCXxVA/w-d-xo.html
Sad to see the decimation of the countryside due HS2, when the governments have pledged about emissions and saving the environment but allow this to go on is disgusting really.

Phenomenal progress. Thanks for taking the time to record this section of the important addition to the country's strategic rail capacity.
