The profile of the Corsair is just so damn wicked. The Mustang and Corsair are two of the best looking aircraft from WWII. And the big radial engine sound is very distinguishable. The best.
Paddy Patrone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing like the sound of a Radial Engine! Back When America WAS Great, and in her Finest Hour, and when things were made to last! Excellent Pilot! Beautiful Plane, and splendid footage! 👍💪✌😊
Very very serious piece of equipment. These late version Corsairs are incredible machines. The epitome of piston fighter development along with other British superprops
Beautiful. Love the Corsair. It's always a pleasure to see this tough rugged metal bird. One of many best of Vought industries. Love that radial engine sound. One of the very best and a favourite of mine. Plenty models of this Aircraft to build. Fantastic.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
I knew a pilot that flew one of these and was almost killed when soon after takeoff maintenance forgot to put a lock nut on the bolt that holds the throttle cable onto the carburetor. He survived but did not fly after that. God bless our servicemen! 💙🇺🇸👍🙋♂️🖖🏻
Baddest Corsair in the air today!!!…the later Corsairs performed considerably better than the early Corsairs…that’s why the FG-2’s never went into production because they just worked so good already!
Neil Armstrong: The P-51 Mustang was a nice airplane, and wonderful sound, particularly when you retarded the throttle and you got those stacks putt-putt-putting. It was quite elegant. I enjoyed flying the airplane. It just didn't have the performance of an F8F, Bearcat, but it was built [to fly at] high altitude. Well, it first was built to be an attack airplane, not a fighter, but a fighter version of it became predominantly a high-altitude escort long-range aircraft.
Thank you for letting the engine and airflow be your soundtrack. Does the pilot ladder retract manually, automatically or by the ground crew? Saw it was still down as you took off and down when you shut down.
Sometimes I either lost track of the aircraft or the music they were playing in the backround was too loud to cancel it out, so I had to cut out these parts. Sorry for that.
How can it be a night fighter since this plane does not have radar? My dad flew the TBM Avenger in the first night airgroup to fly from carriers during WW ll, (Night Torpedo Squadron 90) and all of the planes in this squadron had radomes on the right wing. You have to have radar to fly combat at night and this Corsair does not have it.
Originaly it had a Radar on the right wing. However, since the Radar pod creates quite a bit of asymmetric drag (which was often compensated with a fuel tank on the left wing) the Radar has not been put back on to it. It`s just a lot easier/better to fly without it as an Airshow warbird.
@@maxwellwalcher6420 I hear ya , they are a beautiful , kickass airplane. I love em too. I just love others more. Actually very few WWII era aircraft I don’t love.

Watched the film 'Devotion' a few weeks back...damn, those later Corsairs were mean machines...

Sehr schöne Aufnahmen, toller Sound und ein ausgezeichneter Pilot, butterweich aufgesetzt, Klasse Georg!
Fun fact:The f4u's landing gear was designed to be especially strong to be used as an additional airbrake.
True, in that case it would be extended without the tailwheel. Nice engineering.

Super props? Name 2!
This pilot knows how to correctly land and take off with a Corsair. Well done great video who ever you are wish that was me looks like FUN. RBT
Als der Motor ansprang, hatte ich sofort Pipitränen😂 in den Augen. Dieser Sound ist eine Ode an die Ingenieurs Kunst.

Great post. Beautiful plane nicely flown. Liked total video including shut down. Thanks.
the doppler effect is so damned cool on this video
Großartiges Video von einem außergewöhnlichen Flugzeug. Danke für deinen Post.

That's a great sound
I was on the airshow myself too but on Sunday
Thanks for sharing 👍

Good display performed by Georg Raab
Indeed!

Tolle Aufnahmen? Super gefilmt!!!
Beautiful machine

Beautiful Georg!
That was great, thank you!
Love the Corsair. Great video!
Absolutely beautiful 💪👍
Just "waooh" !
Absolument magnifique
The best american fighter of WW 2. Yes- even better than the Mustang. I would choose this plane over any prop fighter in that war.

Goes up with the Landing gear
Tolles licht und gut einfangen
Danke ✌
Nice one! I never understood how those wing latches can be strong enough to not fold
Nice. Wish there were no cuts, but those parts must have been too blurry, I guess. At least there is no music, just raw engine/plane noises
Sometimes I either lost track of the aircraft or the music they were playing in the backround was too loud to cancel it out, so I had to cut out these parts. Sorry for that.
@@PaddyPatrone Great vid. it’s good you shall have something new to film soon when MH415 joins the fleet

At what altitude does the Corsair achieve its highest possible TAS in straight and level flight? Does anyone know? Thanks.

Great Video. Too bad this version hasn't the deathwistle anymore.
This can variate a lot depending on the version.
@@PaddyPatrone was afaik only with the F4U-3/4
I didn't hear the "whistling" noise that Corsairs were best known for on dives? The Japanese called her "Whistling Death".
Thats only present on earlier variants. This is a 1950`s build F4U-5.
Diese Lackierung und dann noch die Klappflügel... junger Vadder!!

Not that bad would i see a Japanese Judy and a P51D Mustang Next.
Please no more Mustangs , they are awesome and cool but we have so much stuff on them already. How about some of the rarer , more obscure planes?
