    You applied the relaxer incorrectly. It's tip to root. Your roots will always process faster. So you have to allow your ends mire time to process before applying it to your roots. You simply have to try again in 2 months and focus on your ends. Vaseline helps as well.

    • @daishamariee
      @daishamariee 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I beg to differ. The majority of the relaxer should be on your roots whatever is left over will straighten out the ends trust me I had my hair permed since I was 5 until the end of high school. And been natural ever since. I personally believe 2 months is too soon to try it again. Its a chemical your putting on your head and hair thats more damaging that bleaching products. I say call it quits and get a good silk press.

      My natural 4c hair takes my trichologists and my stylist an hour to do. Trichologist routine: 10 minutes electro-therapy 10 minutes shampoo 10 minutes steam with deep conditioner. 10 minutes steam leave in. 10 minutes detangle and style in 2 or 3 French braids. 10 minutes ref light therapy. My stylist's routine: 5 minute consultation. 10 minute head massage. 10 minutes shampoo. 10 minutes conditioner with hot towel. 20 mins detangle, apply products and style. 5 mins hand my coat to me. My routine at home: 30 minutes pre-poo. 10 minutes shampoo. 30 minutes deep condition with electric conditioning heat cap. 20 minutes steam leave in 20 minutes detangle and 14 flat twists. If I'm only detangling and putting 2 or three French braids that take 10 minutes. If I'm going swimming, shampoo, conditioner and leave in takes 15 minutes and 5 minutes to apply leave in and put my hair in a puff. All the extra that everyone does, my trichologists had told me specifically not to do!

    I too had my hair professionally relaxed after being natural for 7 years. ...I should have just had it cut. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my relaxed pixie cut, but missed my curls. After having relaxed hair for a year, I visited the barber and had my hair buzz cut to my scalp. From there I began my natural hair journey all over. 3 years later, my hair is healthy and has grown to the same length prior to the relaxer. ...No more relaxers for me.

      I been natural for 4 years now after cutting my hair baby bald and never again will I get any relaxers. It looks good, have the flat forehead look and may be easier to comb, but at the end of the day, natural hair is the bomb. I love the struggle, the length, the thickness in volume and my curls. I cannot get all of this with a relaxer. It's not for everybody so I stay away from the relaxer. When I was relaxed for a few years, it did nothing for my hair but gotten thin over time and it just didn't seem the same versus my natural hair.

    I know its been awhile but I just want everyone in the comments to know, you have professional black stylists in your area. Consider yourself lucky! Not everyone has access to hair stylists that know how to manage black hair. I've been in my area a few times and I WILL NEVER go back. Not saying this is her experience. Just saying some of us rely on TH-cam and forums for hair care because it's all we have

    There is sensitive scalp grease that I apply on my scalp whenever I touch up my roots every 12-14 weeks. It really works. Even when I scratch my scalp the day before. This will also allow you to have the relaxer to sit longer if you're looking for a straighter look. There are some awesome people on TH-cam to watch who are relax ladies like April sunny, hairlicious, Brianna RaShay to name a few. They have great tutorials of relaxing your hair. Two of them are licensed cosmetologist. Good luck!

    I'm sorry to tell you dear but you must follow the directions strictly being your first time using it. I've had my hair permed for over 45 yrs. Professional & doing it myself.
    You mixed the product w/a metal instrument. Use the wood instrument that comes w/ the pkg. 2)Put the perm in from the roots to the tips of your hair. No it is not over processed. Actually it's not processed thoroughly. Follow the directions. Your hair should not be tangled after you've processed it (permed). No way shape or form. You are going to break your hair off. No comb & style it. Nothing is going to work to much because you only permed your hair partially. Yes you should have permed it to the ends. You should not scratch your hair b4 you put a perm in. Obviously you did not pay attention to what your mom did. Don't cut your hair, in a few months it will grow out just DO NOT put another chemical in your hair without KNOWING & READING the FULL instructions.

    I think where you went wrong is, you didn't apply it from root to ends. you applied it like a touch up / How you would if you were just doing your you did good by starting in the middle as its probably your thickest section. But next time you should make sure you apply it to the ends and don't rub your hair, but smooth it straight so it comes out that way. ALSO, You shouldnt apply oil before you straighten because it's like frying your hair. But apply the heat protectant, then heat. Then the oil afterward.

Let sit over night. And then spray in your hair. Cloves are also really good and a must have, and look into amla! You’ll be good 😌. But also relax again or stay texlaxed. You definitely didnt mess up your hair. It looks better than before the relaxer. Texlaxing allows the hair to have more elasticity and hold moisture. Try only finger combing your hair. black hair just DOES tangle because of the curl pattern (untill its trained over time). Only detangle with a conditioner OR leave in conditioner (because it has alot of SLIP--not oil). When your hair is wet try Aint Jesse's leave in condish. It's an excellent product and will make your curl pattern strong. When you wear your hair straight try getting it professionally done at a salon, and wear clip ins for fullness. I would not relax your hair again.

    Girl, that whole process was a hot mess! I don't understand why you wanted to relax your hair to begin with if you wanted some character to it at the end when you put the mask in it. You have to be careful about how you treat your scalp before any chemical process because it can make your scalp more sensitive. The only thing you did right with the relaxer was the strand test. You really should find a good professional in your area to do some corrective maintenance on your hair. Your ends desperately need a trim. If your going to do a protein treatment, you should do it before a deep condition. There is so much information you need about the entire process that you should Google every step if you want to do it successfully by yourself.

    • @zuzuslife
      @zuzuslife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Trust me I know it was a hot mess! - I did mention that 😅 and yess I was thinking of getting a corrective relaxer but someone else advised to not relax my hair for a few months, but you’re right I definitely need a trim to start!! (Black hair salons in my area are super hard to come by tho😩)
      I did do some research into this before hand, there’s so much Information and with a lot of it everyone gives their personal perspective which means information differs, so sometimes it’s never really going to turn out super perfect, because something will always be wrong depending on who’s giving their opinion, but still thank you for your advice I will be sure to try it out!💕

    So the process was basically a texturizing effect. Makes the hair temporarily less course dents curly kinky, whatever you want to call it it makes the hair less than what it was before. So yes when you leave a relaxer on the hair for any amount of time that is less than the amount of time it encourage you to leave it on for, it has a texturizing effect. Bottom line you are no longer natural and you have officially crossed over to the chemical side.
