- Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve done a bookshelf tour. My collection has grown and my shelves have changed so I thought what better time than now. Since the collection has gotten bigger I thought it best to split it into sections so thank you for watching Part 1: The Classics 😊

WoW - I love those illustrations in your edition of Lovecraft..!! They almost look like old carnival posters.
They are amazing illustrations! Travis Louie did the art and he did a fantastic job. Now that you mention it they do resemble old carnival posters; I never noticed that! Thanks so much for watching.

Nice. The next time you get treated to a Folio Society purchase, you'll have to give serious consideration to their edition of The Great Gatsby. It's very attractive. 👍
Yes! I've been eyeing that edition on their website for a while. The illustrations are gorgeous. Its definitely on the wishlist.

Absolutely loved this. Your editions are beautiful. I love Gaskell in particular but so many faves there. Jane Eyre is my all time favourite classic and I love both Jane Eyre and Wild Sargasso Sea.
I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed the video; thank you for watching! Its interesting that you mention Gaskell because I recently just finished Mary Barton by her and very much enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to my next Gaskell. Its also nice to meet someone who also appreciates both Wide Sargasso Sea and Jane Eyre.
if you liked the creepiness of Therese Raquin then i really recommend Thirst, the brilliant Korean film adaptation which has added priests and vampires ~

I usually don’t love the re designed covers on paperbacks (like, Murakami covers from 2014 versus now- so sad!) but I LOVE the recent Kazuo Ishiguro ones! Glad to see you like them too. Would love a flip through of your folio society collection!
@Kotohira_ Yes, I’m a fan of the Ishiguros for sure. I love the minimalist look and the bold colors. I can’t get more of them as much as I want since they seem to be only available in the UK. But the next Ishiguro I end of loving I’ll get a copy to match the other two! If you’d like to see the inside of the folio editions I flip through them a bit in my ‘Special Editions Collection’ video ☺️

Such beautiful editions 🤩 this makes me want to reorganize my bookshelf again haha. And those Penguin pocket books! Is the font size decent in them? I've had mixed success with Macmillan Collectors but I do love that pocket size...
Thank you!! Is there a possible bookshelf reorganization video in the future? 😊I'd say the font in the Penguin pockets are good. Thankfully, the letters aren't miniscule. I had no trouble reading from them. The Macmillans I must admit, similar to the Virago Modern Classics, are more of collectors editions to me 😅 But still readable so long as I take off the pretty dust jacket. I like their size too.
@@marianneguevara8279 oh that's good to know! I will see if I can get one of those editions. And, I've never organized by edition before but I really enjoyed seeing how you did it and it makes me want to give it a try!
@@marianhreads I've thought about rearranging my books in chronological order but I can't commit 😅It bugs me to no end when I see books in the same edition separated from each other. I don't know why.
@@marianneguevara8279 haha I get it! Especially since I started working in design...there's just something so visually appealing about edition grouping 😁

Which edition or publisher do you think has the unabridged classics? I am so lost when I am on Amazon and I dont enjoy abridged. Any suggestions?
Hello! ☺️ Thank you for watching! I would highly recommend either The Penguin black spines or Oxford World classics 9:54-11:05 . The black spine editions especially. They have good intros and notes too along with fairly good translations
