The backup vocalist/rhythm guitarist is Miku. She formed the band and come up with the concept while working at a Maid Cafe in Akihabara Tokyo. She writes 90% of the lyrics. She was originally the lead vocalist for the band but decided to step back and audition for a more rockish singer. Then came along Saiki. Miku then, after a bit of just doing backup/secondary vocals, decided to pick up the guitar and learn how to play to help fill the band out more. Within the span of a few years she went from not knowing how to plays single chord to becoming one of the best rhythm guitarists currently on the planet. A lot of people over look Miku and don’t realize she’s the glue that hold this band together and is very dedicated to her craft.
When you can be cute/adorable and kick ass the same time.. Miku just jumping while playing is so kawaii.

BANDMAID is off the charts AWESOME! Hearing them for the first time was a giant slap to my face! I’ve awake now and understanding how incredible these five girls truly are! They are ALL UNBELIEVABLY TALENTED! OMG! They are now my favorite band...........and it’s not even close!
Band Maid is relentless quality. Their live stuff really shines with extra solos and battles.

In hard rock, maybe. But as far as all-female Japanese power metal is concerned, Lovebites reign supreme. ❤️🤘
@@ChrisPage68 No interest in whether it's a male or female band because it doesn't matter to me, I just care if I like it. Not a fan of Lovebites or any other Japanese group. Derivative and the vocals are hard on my ears.
@@ChrisPage68 I guess if you prefer power metal, then you'd like Lovebites more.
Personally, I prefer Bach, Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart, and Chopin, but as far as bands go, Band Maid is #1.
I may love classical music more than anything else, but I do love good rock bands as well.

I'm a Member of th Nightwish Army and I love Band-Maid.
Nightwish is for the "Art" and Band-Maid for the funny "Hard Stuff".
If you want goosebumps, chills, and an eargasm, try their instrumental song ONSET live. This is the bands musical onslaught on stage.
Seems to be a popular pick with everyone!
@@TauriReacts yes this instrumental song never had a studio recording. The purpose of Onset was to give the singer a break or rest in mid shows. And it was written on the fly during their tour to play it live only. Fans fell in love with this insane masterpiece of a composition, so they decided to put it to studio recording with a special bundle cd/DVD combo.
Everyone - all band members - are great. Not just good, but great. And they seem to be betting better. Check out "Puzzle" live. The lead guitar player is playing a solo throughout almost the entire song.

Get ready for plenty more smiles as you follow the band. It's really difficult to pick out their best songs, or even the ones that fans like the most, but there are often certain ones that get recommended, usually for little extra elements they add in live performances. As an example, Don't You Tell Me (live) th-cam.com/video/foqErbEw05o/w-d-xo.html What's special? Well, you'll know it when you see it.
Once again, I watch your genuine reaction and you are right...none of their songs are skippable, not even one! It will grow into you, and you will fall in love with the band, as I did! the "little pigeon" Miku, doing the backing vocals on the rhythm guitar, is like Toumas in Nightwish, she is the main producer of the songs and looks after everything in the band. If you like the bass lines of Misa...you have seen nothing yet. Play, Turn me On, Take me Higher, Don't you Tell Me, Onset...all live! There are bands worth listening to, but there are some very few that are amazing performing live, that's one of them.

I'm losing sleep over these girls and I'm happy to do it!!!!. Two nights ago I stayed up til 3am to watch their live stream. Last night I watched the whole Shibuya gig from their new dvd. Someone had put the whole 2 hours up on TH-cam, ( It's been taken down now I think). Can't wait for my DVD to arrive.... Shouldn't be long now !!
Does anyone know the significance of Feb 11 2021??? The date was highlighted at the end of the gig, 😁
I believe 11 Feb 2021 will be their Budokan stage. It's gonna be huge. Planning on going but have to see how long will our current situation last 😅
The date wasn’t the highlight. The venue was the highlight and the reason for the cheers. Nippon Budokan is like a right of passage for bands making it to the upper tier. It’s much easier for the popular singers and idols (including BabyMetal) to perform there than it is for a band working its way up from the bottom.
The date IS actually special because it’s like the Japanese equivalent of National/Independence Day.

Great reaction! We want more reactions to Band Maid. From all their great songs, I recommend you "Dice" official video. "Rinne" is my favorit song. I also recommend you Lovebites band, five japanese girls, very talented. Songs: "Shadowmaker", When destinies aligh" Break the wall", "Rissing", "The crusade" and many others.

There was a great concert video of their song "Freedom" on YT, but looks like it was taken down. In it Miku has a singing part at beginning of song and then towards the end Saiki goes out a bit in audience to sing and then gets kidnapped by that audience so Miku has to finish up the vocals. Let me know if you want it to do a reaction to it.

Think that there are three composers in this band, Kanami who writes the whole song’s vocal melodies/choruses, plus the first and second guitar lines, and then, Misa who writes the bass line, and finally Akane the drum beats (which I would rather call them “melodies”). The other two give the perceptional touch with the lyrics done by Kobato, and the actual voice sung by Saiki.
If you like bandmaid and nightwish thenyou should also lime a band called lovebites I think you will like tbem.

Miku isn't so much of a backing vocalist as she is a co-vocalist. I think of it like Lane Staley and Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains, but without the heroin addiction. Though Band-Maid is highly addictive, like heroin only without all the side effects. They just leave you wanting to hear more and with a feeling of overall joy.

That's Miku. She actually started the band and was supposed to be the lead singer, but she didn't think her voice was strong enough to sing the types of songs they wanted to play, so they recruited Saiki.
So, this is a year later, so you might not even end up reading this, but despite the fact that I love Nightwish, there are some songs that are a little rough. The Carpenter for one. Tuomas singing is a little tough to listen to. Not that I would necessarily skip it, unless I've listened to it recently.
