There are so many musicians and bands that can shred and play the hell out of their instruments. But Band-Maid not only has the musicianship, they have the songs -- the writing... the compositions... the consistency of creating great material... and the ability to seamlessly cross genres, tempos and dynamics all within one song. And they have a band synergy no other band has. Band-Maid is unique among rock bands for many reasons, but it's the strength of their over 100 songs that really separate them from the rock pile. Thx, SkiBuff! ⛷
"Why has no one talked about this song?" I said in the comments a few songs back that you would soon be "Flying High", and I have waxed poetically about the tune in other threads, so I'll spare everyone except to say it is the #1 repeated song in the car cd player. You're welcome. 🙂
A little trivia from an interview. NGL mostly to trigger Visconti haters. Kobato: We did it like, “um, no, let’s get back a little…” po. So, that was a great experience, and after the completion of The Dragon Cries, we mixed Track 12 Flying high again to match its vibe. - Oh, I thought so! I would almost believe it if you said Flying high was also produced by Tony. I felt the relationship between the two songs. Kobato: It’s a good song, so we discussed with a mixing engineer to mix it again with a little more US rock feel. Saiki: The engineer was surprised by the data, like “does he use this in this way?!” Kobato: Tony-san kindly taught us how to do it because he wanted us to do it also in Japan. Flying high is a cool song with a bluesy vibe.
Simply overlooked being stuck in between World Domination and Unseen World. A little bit lost in the shuffle but if we give the two albums above A+ Conqueror rates an A.
For me, "Flying High" was one of those Band-Maid tracks where I said, 'That's one of the best songs I've ever heard...by any band." It's just a BLAST! 🕊
SAIKI: MIKU's new trick. The screams such as "Giyee-!" in [flying high](laughs). MIKU: In the demo it was a man's shout, but SAIKI said "please do that part MIKU." At that time I was advised by the vocal director in [Image is like when a cat throws up a hairball] po(laughs). So I tried a few times and was able to learn how to do it. From then on I have been told in other songs "Do the [cat's hairball] thing here." po.
The great thing I love about Kanami solos is that they are composed in a way that is integral to the song. They're short, but there's not a single wasted note.
Absolutely love this song! So many tasty guitar riffs, bass lines, and drum parts! Misa’s bass lines are especially tasty 😋 and Akane fills and the double kicks near the end are awesome and Kanami’s guitar solo is one of her best! Vocal are great as well! 😎
Like Kent said. Miku is screaming Yeah! She does this in several songs. When you listen to the harmonies, with practice, you will learn whose voice is who. Just like picking out the English phrases. After a few years it became easy but it wasn't at first. Keep up the good work. Band-Maid is the best hard rock band anywhere today.
Pretty much my favorite song on Conqueror. That was Miku with the “come out” shoutout towards the end. Kanami provided a longer absolute shredder of a guitar solo. Misa & Akane are amazing as always.
This is one of the few songs like Freezer that is a fan favorite but we don’t talk about as there’s no video or live pro footage of it to point you to. Yeah!!!!!
I did not know that. The way she announced it at the beginning (her speaking voice and accent), and then the scream that's a bit hoarse and husky at the end (MIku's voice is not husky) sure sounds like Saiki to me. Huh! Do you have any reference to it, Kent? (not that I don't believe you ;-).
@@TomClark-Futoura I have seen the live footage, and Miku is the one saying "Shall we?" and screams "yeah, come out". She also is the one singing the highest note before the throat clearing.
Misa is my favorite bassist, and it's not even close. I've listened to a few people trying to cover her playing, and they all say it's like trying to learn a 3- to 4-minute solo.
@@GaryHolloway-810 Yes, definitely! She does tend to wander all over the neck in a lot of songs, but it only serves the song and blends so well that it can be hard to catch.
In the fine tradition of a proper album band...all the good stuff hidden away and you enjoy discovering music for yourself rather than being told what's good. "YEAH" Miku :-)
Yeah Man! Def 1 of my top 10 fav BM songs of all time! I dig the newer stuff but when you hear parts of the fandom complaining about the new music, this is what they're pinning for.
When it comes to choosing a particular song for anyone, dude, it's really hard. They have tons of great song. So, normally we pick one of them on official channel which doesn't has all of the list and make sure to tell everyone to check ALL of their songs later. a few people do that but glad you do.👍
My favourite song on the album 🤘 And I always talked about it 😁 Three years have passed since they released CONQUEROR, many people start to forget about it. Even though this album was full of experiments, it gave a completely different direction to BAND-MAID music, and should be considered a turning point in their career... well, another turning point 😂
@@VladimirChupin Hi Vladimir hope you're well? Yep it was more of an experimental album but the Maids released "Rinne" less than 2 months after "Endless Story" as if to reiterate they'd lost none of their Hard Rock edge :)
Come on 😁All people were confused initially. If I would not read that interview, about "cat hairball scream," I would never dare to think it was Miku! Of course, now, in the hindsight, I'm also giggling each time I hear reactors saying it's Saiki, but it's because I already know the truth.

Personally in my top 5 BM songs. Great vocal interactions between Miku and Saiki. Just a great song.

This is my favorite song from this album and in my top10 Band-Maid songs. I have had this song on repeat several times 🤘
No wonder it reminds you of The Dragon Cries, they said in interviews they were inspired here by what they learned by working with Visconti.
Oh really? They said it themselves? I thought it's just my own reasoning and analysis... Cool! 🤘
Shall we? Yeah!!!!! Come out!
