The Peony decals did it. Pulled all together, and gave it a classy look. It's a discussion here too, USA English speaking kids and English raised mom. The accents are so different. I love to tease them, Vegetables, and vegan, they correct me with veeeegan. So I tease them with veeeeegetables. ;>p

We have a camper that’s smaller than yours but has almost the same decor-honey oak everywhere, dark curtains, etc. I would love to have the time and resources to redo it like yours. Never thought about using wall decals or switching out the furniture for ‘real’ furniture as you’ve done. Love it!!! And thanks so much for showing the ladder. We have bunk beds and two daughters, and have discussed making them a ladder, buying a foot stool, whatever, but couldn’t decide. I’m buying the ladder from Amazon right after posting this. Angel Mazzoni I really would love to know who designed the inside of all of these campers prior to factory assembly. I am not mad at the fake wood grain cabinets, but the “wallpaper”, window treatments, flooring and carpet are all so depressing and dark. After our house burned down late last year, we have been living in an RV on the property and living in it full time has added to the state of depression we already feel. I just got the go ahead to update the inside after showing the owners these videos. Yay!

I used to paint with my Dad all the time around your daughters age. He was a house painter and wood worker.❤️ I just lost him at 80 years old last month. This reminds me how he would wear his paint stained overalls and hide a candy necklace in the front pocket for me when he paid for gas.❤️❤️

Wow!!! What an amazing transformation! I love everything. It's perfect for girls! I saw similar peony decals a few years ago on a TV program and fell I love with them. The little vanity area came out so cute, and it's great you were able to reuse some of the original soft goods like the green curtains and cushions. They match perfectly and offer a little bit of "history" to the room. What a difference paint makes.....I can't get over how bright it is now! Great job.....thanks for sharing!

Absolutely beautiful!! I like to use fluffy mattress pads between our old mattresses and the sheets, just makes us feel clean. And for our newest, old, camper, the mattress looked clean, but I still put it in a zipper bag, then put a mattress pad on, then our sheets. It was 20 years old, LOL and it gave me a peace of mind to seal it in the allergen and bug-proof bag.

The DIY Mommy I give the flat parts of the furniture a very light sanding first. I don’t do the whole thing. This also smoothies out the brush strokes. The room looks amazing. Your girls must be thrilled. ❤️

My kitchen is EXTREMELY small and not an open concept. It's almost part of the livingroom. We have dark wood floors and light oak cabinets. What colors do you think I could paint the cabinets and small bit of walls you can see. 😊 What would be colors I could use to give the illusion that the kitchen is bigger but still go with the beige paint ? Should I use the same color on the cabinets and walls ? I'm hoping to put a pop of color without being to stark. I hope you don't mind me asking for your advice.
you didn't ask me, but offering suggestions anyway! paint kitchen the same color as rest of the unit, but use semi-gloss on the cabinets. it reflects light and will be easy to clean. for your 'color', check out decals at Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart, Hobby Lobby, or whatever stores you have in your area, and use those for color. doesn't have to be flowers, there are foods, baskets, fish, birds, etc. to choose from, and often have matching placements and kitchen linens to match!

I can’t believe how absolutely gorgeous the room is! I want to do the same thing for a guest room, terrorized-by-the-dog cat room, and my granddaughter’s room as well. She desperately wants a bunk bed, and that would keep the cats happy and her happy as well! It’s just beautiful! 💕💫

I used a liquid sander. It worked AMAZINGLY. I also used a Glidden paint with primer. The paint is wonderful.

When I work some soft wax into my chalk painted finishes, it definitely smoothies out the finish.

Yes, Walmart sells wax just to give that finish to chalk paint. It’s made by Kilz and comes in a small container that looks like shoe polish.

I always wax my chalk paint. It will deepen the color, but adds nice protection to the paint as well as smoothing the finish.

I can’t believe how absolutely gorgeous the room is! I want to do the same thing for a guest room, terrorized-by-the-dog cat room, and my granddaughter’s room as well. She desperately wants a bunk bed, and that would keep the cats happy and her happy as well! It’s just beautiful! 💕💫
