It's good to see how to arrange cage from the "logistic" point of view of experiences bird owner.
You know what birds need and where they might need them, when first-bird owner (future me!) might not had thought about it.
Hopefully getting cockatiels before summer and already excited of arranging their cage.

I use the natural perches for my cockatiel and budgie. My budgie has a flat corner perch that's up high that he's starting to sit on and play with the toy I hung next to it. Both my birds have a cuttle bone holder with an attached perch as well as a ladder. My cockatiel's cage came with a ledge that goes the front to back width of the cage that he will sometimes perch on the end of. as for sleeping my budgie likes the perch in the middle which is the lowest of the perches in the upper part of his cage and my cockatiel will sleep on the highest perch in his cage (which is similar to Electra's & my budgie's cage is slightly less wide side to side and half the height). I needed a cage for both of them to board in when I go away that'll safely fit in my car which was a priority when I moved down south. Both can fly in their cage, although my cockatiel tends to climb and only flies when startled.
I'm going to look and see if I can find some smaller toys with bells for my budgie, who LOVES bells, to see if I can get him to come down to the bottom of his cage more than he does. He only comes down to eat, as that's where his food and water are. My cockatiel likes to play all over his cage, especially in the one corner where he's got a few toys and sometimes he takes a quick nap there, before going back to playing. (which he just did. 😆)
