The idea of two guitars playing different riffs that compement eachother is an 80's thing. Mostly heard on Def Leppard's Hysteria album.
One of the main reasons I like Ghost. That sound. Those guitars. That way of composing.
It goes back further than that. The Beatles did it, Stones, Kiss, Aerosmith etc

That's one incredibly intelligent individual. So intelligent that it's very easy to tell when he's the one speaking, even if you were to modulate his voice.
A dead giveaway of who this ghoul is, is the way his left hand plays the barre chord at 2:44. His middle finger sticks out straight as opposed to Alpha's playing style

I love all things GHOST. Best band I have heard in a very long time. Now I am going to see them live I'm concert. Can't wait the count down has started.
Considering Tobias played guitar on the demo, along with every instrument other than the drums, and I believe the same on Opus, this makes perfect sense.

Well obviously only about 95%....his voice and hand gestures.... People have gone as far to say that Tobias Forge is one of the guitarist and the guy on stage is lip syncing I don't know how true that is because of the hand gestures

This is pretty funny that Tobias chose to do this rather then have Simon or Martin do it, but he is a guitar player and bassist and the main songwriter in the band so I guess it's fitting. He did also play the bass on the first Ghost record.

You could replace the whole band, only few would even hear it. There concept is amazing.I could be a namless ghoul who knows.That concept to connect 'old metal' with deathmetal satanic lyrics sounds so new but familier at the same time,and papa doing his thing ... Its addictive fresh old and just a genius piece of show.

+João Cota That's exactly what I was just noticing. I even went and searched "Stand By Him Live 2015" to see if Alpha(white Gibson RD) held his middle finger like that during the main riff.............. nope, not even close.
+João Cota Well, the ghoul who plays this guitar is on TH-cam somewhere showing it off. His voice is completely different.
You can tell it's him by the voice and slightly americanised accent. I recon he's the secret ghoul songwriter.
+João Cota that's because this is Omega, dressed as Alpha. He is the rhythm guitarist (black Gibson RD). He also gives 99% of the interviews (and in this case guitar lessons). It's probably because he speaks the best english in the band. The actual Alpha is a really shy guy what I've noticed. Also Omega is a very interesting guy, very intelligent and well-educated. He always finds good words to express himself. And he is good with social interactions. Probably the main reason why they chose him.

That seems to be what everyone is concluding. To me, Papa sounds like freaking Dracula. I can just hear him saying, "I vant to suck your blood...ah ah ah ah". The Ghouls sound nothing like that. Whatever, dudes!

ok, I can't get over that tone. I grew up on Metallica, pantera and others so I like high gain, high treble, mid to high bass and almost zero mids, but this tone is killer.
Tobias started playing guitar at 7.
I've seen other interviews with Alpha, and he has a pretty strong accent. This guy seems to sound almost exactly like Papa.. but who knows....thats the pint right? Keep us interested??? OK.. after watching to the end.. this definitely is Tobias...When he gets to 6:26, theres no doubt, thats his vibrato and inflection.....
that tapping "excersice" that he uses to start the solo is from a Nuno Bettencourt lesson on a guiat magazine, Nuno also uses it also on the end of "More Than Words"

To all the people wondering why he can't play his own riffs 100% perfect every time, he isn't the guitar player. Tobias is the singer of Ghost, and made the guitar riffs, but he has no reason to pick up the guitar to play those riffs anymore. If you watch Tobias perform live for his older band Repugnant, you can see you is a competent guitar player, and can even sing at the same time.

J. B. Scandinavians are frequently obnoxiously good at sounding like they’re from Ohio when they speak English. I mean, lots of them do have thick accents but it’s crazy how many Swedes especially who speak better English than lots of people who only speak English.

+viper 71 It's Papa. You can tell easily, because in "Me and my guitar" there is really Alpha doing the interview and it's really easy to say which is which. Papa is trying to fool us, but we are not dumb ;)
I'm new to the band and don't know much, but if Papa is the lead singer, from what I've noticed, his voice sounds deeper and more like Dracula. Does he change it to sound younger in interviews? Perhaps his stage voice is more theatrical and less "him".

He said in a interview back in 2001 that one of the upcoming Repugnant songs would be titled "Death Knell". So I assume that Tobias Forge uses Repugnant riffs on Ghost.
