- My buddy’s cls55 amg is finally back And this thing is a BEAST it’s a pure JDM EATER
it broke down abroad and was shipped back 6 weeks later After a couple of hours of repairs after we thought the worst £500 later she alive and kicking karens
Turned out it had so much power the air on pump exploded !!!

The V8 in the CLS55 is the M113K, yours should be the M273. M113K is older design (3v head, longer stroke, bit bigger bore) and uses siemens engine management, the m273 also came in bosch ecu. Trans in s500 is 722.9 7 speed nag2, cls55 is 722.6 5 speed nag1 used in the 55K models because the 722.9 has a torque limit of 800nm while the 722.6 is at 1200nm torque limit. Cls is built on extended e class chassis and s-class has its own thing. Also, the cls55 weighs a bit more than the w221 s500. I think i got everything covered

Not sure yet heard 900hp but 750 is as far as I’ve pushed one
Threw the aux belt a few times but got it right in the end it was perfect
Before you touch anything on these cars I would suggest finding someone good that can tune it this one was tuned buy the company that made the pulleys but unfortunately the guy isn’t with us any more
I would start with De-cating the thing this makes a massive improvement all over the rpm range
some aftermarket filters like k&n panels are a great shout and also try to add some cold air feeds to those bad boys too
Play with your pulley sizes until you get the power you require with your tuner
Also there is a second cooler you can purchase for the water system I would Definitely recommend this as a upgrade to keep the temps down
Also if there is a kit that uses a bigger belt on the shelf then that’s going to be better then stock with a full pulley kit
The main thing when playing with pulleys and making brackets is making sure every thing is straight
Why turbo your car when you can supercharg it I heard it's faster and more reliable
Good point I could just buy a supercharged engine and drop it in but I’m like a mad scientist I like to experiment and fabricate things …also I’ve never seen a rear mount turbo one

Nice car did you get a LSD differential installed or is the factory stock diff on the car
It in fact had a aftermarket lsd installed from the previous owner
it is far from the same engine. amg 55 clearly the best engine. the other has many weaknesses as I have learned it

I just followed up on what I learned and now I'm in doubt what your engine is called because it's not 6.3?
I learned that the 6.3 liter na is a nice engine but it can make problems with the cylinder head / bolts and expensive to build tunning on ,rather than the simpler m113k
I would like to buy an amg next time I just learned that 5.5 m113k is a simple and powerful engine for tuning.
Both engines are 5.5 mine is a M273.961

No I’ve had 800hp on one with stock internals anything more you need to run e85/e50 because over 1.6 bar they like to knock
100-200 ??.
I never recorded it but when I’m back in the uk I’m sure the owner will let me make a video finding this out

Bro I just found a 06cls55 with long tube headers, pulley kit , but was abandoned I’m trying to get it it’s been sitting for a year the owner had like forgotten it so it my turn 😈😈 wish I could add pics because it has brabus shiz on it and some crazy rocker panels and like a 63 pointed front bumper and the trunk lid is like a extended duck bill lip it looks sick asf

The engine is actually fairly different between these 2. As is the gearbox. Both nice cars.
They are both 7 speed what other differences are there is it internally stinger on the supercharged amg
@@StatusExotics The 2006 CLS55 Amg should be using the older 722.6 5spd unit. The engine in your S class is an evolution of that engine. But it's not the same one. M113k uses a 3v head. While the m273 uses a 4v head design.
