You should wear some big rubber boots with your pant legs over the boots so give you more protection and also an overlap so you don't get sawdust or wood chips in your socks. Stihl and Husqvarna both make big orange rubber chainsaw boots. you should get a pair.

I run a 261 CM as my "small saw" and a 562 XP as my "big saw" I actually like the 261 better for general cutting, but the 562 is an absolute ripper. I usually will grab ms 261 as my first choice.
Your comment stuck out to me. I've owned 3 Husky 562xp because the power, weight, and balance is absolutely phenomenal! Having said that, the 562 isn't without flaw, mainly the tensioner tends to go bad quite a bit too soon. I'm just curious how a comparable stihl measures up as far as my top 3 categories: power, weight, and balance
@@scaf_007vs3 The Stihl 362 CM is the direct competitor to the 562XP. So I bet that would be a better comparison. I like the inboard clutch on the Stihls to be honest. It makes taking the bar/chain off much easier. My 261c is a smaller saw than the 562, which means lighter. It's no slug when it comes to smaller work, but tends to bog down in the bigger stuff. It starts and runs perfect, and I like how it handles. It feels more balanced with an 20" bar, but so does my 562 xp. I'd love to try the 362 CM to see how it feels and runs.

Short answer no.
My 290 cuts just as fast as my brothers 261 if not faster.
Could just be the user? ..... The MS261 is definitely a better saw.
It should, it's over 10% larger in displacement...and over 2lbs heavier....
290 is a boat anchor. And if it cuts faster then a 261. You better tune it up!
That's because the 290 has a sharper chain. A 261 rips compared to a 290, same bar and chain.

Хвастаюсь

Yes. 291 should cut faster. 261 user will be happier tho. Its the 362 owner that will be laughing at both tho.
