Is crazy how the learning works in different places, I’m in Florida second year and we haven’t been taught anything like that, they have thought us very creative constructs and ways to use design to make spaces.
Honestly, Seeing you experience your past makes me realize how big of a fool I was not to enjoy my journey of torture, Sleepless nights and sweets, simpler times of my architectural school. You were excellent but what actually matter is how you are now. Amazing More success to you. have a great time. Enjoy the ride.
I’m in my first year atm and this is really helpful. Could you do the same for ur 2nd and 3rd year projects ? And good luck with ur Masters application you’ll deffo get it
Love that collage-like section. Top stuff! Wanted to know where you get your textures from. Currently compiling my portfolio and I can find any high quality textures anywhere
Am definitely late to the party, but I'm rewatching your portfolio videos to get some motivation for my own for architecture school next year. Just a quick question, how did the elevator 'EqUiLiBRioCePTIoN' project turn out? Did you receive mostly positive or negative feedbacks? I'm asking because it concerns me regarding the pragmatic purpose of the elevators. I think it is a well thought project in concept, but applying to real life, it seems to be encouraging some unsafe behaviours within an elevator. I feel like you definitely could have executed it better in a different setting. Has anyone provided similar criticism to this? Or am I the only paranoid person in the room haha. That was your first year project, understandable, however as someone who is looking to enrol to an architecture school, I am trying to look at it in the lenses of a first year student. Would love to hear about this! Also great contents, you're definitely gonna help me a lot in the near future I can already tell.
I did my ribs part3 and I quit. architecture is a great life pursue but a poor career decision. I still do my own architecture design and detailing but I don't wanna run project.
A 20/20 Vision.....( a creative non-fiction ) In the end does one become a Architect to express a humanity or is it, a humanity seeking expression in Architecture ? It is time, in the end, we must all face the facts. Do we participate in a promise of debt or a promise of a shared humanity? A..calls on us to hope. B..calls on us to hope. I'm not talking about blind optimism here - the almost willful ignorance that thinks underpaid employment will go away if we just don't talk about it, or the pandemic crisis will solve itself if we just ignore the Annual leave deductions. No, I'm talking about something more substantial. It's the lunchtime hope of the office gathering around a microwave singing Christmas carols; the hope of Hungarian and Italian immigrants from Europe setting out for distant shores; the hope of young new RIBAs bravely patrolling the Airport constuction site; the hope of the young modelmaker who dares to defy the odds; the hope of a skinny architecture grad from Budapest, with a Hungarian name who believes that Hong Kong has a place for her, too. Hope in the face of difficulty. Hope in the face of uncertainty. The hope ......

Same. We focus a lot on hand sketching, and physical models, which I love. Eventually we'll get to this point.
How did you gain these skills in first year? I'm a first year arch student and my portfolio isn't so good
Amazing. We haven't even gained any of those skills in first year.
