The Ball-Core RS3 M Super is the latest and most decked out version of the new RS3 M Super. Following the massive success of the RS3 M 2020, the Super is made with medium magnets and a fast and stable feel. The fact that the ball cores seems cracked and one was entirely broken actually realizes some concerns that I saw in the comment section of another review on this cube. A commenter pointed out that the ball core version may be more brittle because gold colored plastic tends to be more brittle than other colors of plastic. They pointed out that this has actually already happened in the past with Lego. The reason this happens is because of how certain chemicals present in the dye used on the plastic can react with the plastic and make it weaker. An using Lego can be seen where several years ago red and brown bricks were extremely brittle because chemicals used in the red and brown dyes that aren't present in other colors of dye reacted with the plastic and compromised it's durability (Lego has claimed this issue is fixed.) This can even be seen in metal. If you put gallium on steel, over time it forms an alloy and becomes extremely brittle. Someone did this with a steel bat and after several hours they took the bat and struck it against a wooden table and the part of the bat affected by the gallium just shattered. If MoYu used a different plastic color, I can almost guarantee the core would be much more durable.
Leave it to cube companies to ruin a product because they want the plastic on the inside to look shiny.

You sound like you know what you're saying, so I'll trust that the colour is indeed an issue. However, there are a few problems with your baseball analogy. The bat was likely made out of aluminium and not steel, since steel bats hardly exist if at all. When the gallium is applied it forms an amalgam, not an alloy.

I haven’t had any issues with my Ball Core RS3 M Super yet, and while it did take some playing with it to find settings I liked, I’m really enjoying how very smooth it is. It is blocky and I don’t get as good of times with it as my current main (the CH RS3M 2021), but I like the feel of it a lot! Also, after living it pretty thoroughly, it’s MUCH much quieter.

I have the ball core version and honestly kind of goated once you set it up, I used Angstrom Dignitas, gravitas, a Dn-37, and 2 clicks on the spring compression and your good to good
Honestly this has made my original idea of adding the CubersHome core magnet kit to an RS3M Super Maglev even more enticing. Was originally going to get 2 Maglevs just to make that upgrade and see which I preferred, but now I think it might just be the best way to get the core magnets in this cube.

@@lian.8457 Disappointed. I still have it, but not being used. Mine came with cracks too. Also it locks up frequently. I prefer RS3m 2021 Maglev. Feels 10 times better and still going strong. Skip this one.

I just snagged a RS3 ball core version. Haven't disassembled yet as I'm too afraid to break it while disassembling it (I'm too goofy), but it comes with a setup kit, which contains a white ball core that is magnetic as well ... not sure what is it intended for ... maybe to replace the gold colored ball core in case it breaks ? 🤔

For new cubers like myself, this is a good starter Ball Core Cube... For Cubers who have been around for a few years this one isn't for you... This is my 1st Ball core cube and I can definitely feel the difference, performance is more than good enough and it won't empty your pockets if you know what I mean... Thanks for the review...

I have the super rs3m ball core for few days now and I have no issue in it except the magnets, the magnets in corner to edge is very weak it feels nothing is there, so what I did is like jperm I swapped my rs3m pieces to my super rs3m because for me rs3m's corner to edge magnets is stronger and I removed the gold internals and put it to rs3m pieces and put it in my super rs3m, now my cube feels better and it now have a slight auto alignment , I dont recommend this its just my preference but some of you can try it out if you like it.
With two of the ball cores in yours broken and one damaged, I am having my doubts on whether I should consider the ball core version. I'm still going to invest in the standard and maglev (I want both because I have a collection lol), but the damaged ball cores make me a bit afraid for the ball core version...
I think the chance you might be disappointed by a broken ball core isn't insignificant. I won't be using or recommending it until I get some assurances that MoYu is looking into fixing it. I'm not an engineer, but I think the manufacturing is systemically flawed. The standard and maglev versions feel much better and don't break.

I love this cube. I prefer weak alignment magnets, but even I have to admit, the ball core super needs extra magnets. If the slices weren’t so heavy (which I love) the weak magnets wouldn’t be a problem but when you combine that weakness with the heaviness, the magnets become too weak to really stop the momentum of the heavier slices. With the ball core super, the magnets really only provide tactile feedback and don’t align well at all. It’s perfect for people who don’t like the extra initial force that’s necessary with stronger magnets. I personally like it. I keep mine with the stock magnets to practice control and accuracy.

What difference did the cuber's home core magnet kit do to the RS3M 2021? Wasn't there a hype about that when it came out, so why wouldn't the "factory" Moyu kit now give the same advantages???

Mine's almost here (I think it'll arrive tomorrow), I just hope my ball core can handle my turning speed at the same settings as my maglev upgraded GTS3M (loosest "tensions", least compression, and screws so loose that the caps barely stay on, lubed with Max Fleet Command)

@@infinitycuber324 Well, every time a face popped, I just set the popped face a quarter turn tighter and tried it again, until such setting that the screw was at its loosest possible without popping that face.

Stripped Cores and Broken Balls
The Dubious Quality Control is what keeps me from buying another RS3M. It can't be "killed" by another budget cube, but it's killing itself.
I use this cube with zero compression, stock magnets, and just about max flexibility. The only lube I use in it is dnm37. Now, imagine what someone who uses such a twitchy setup would look like. Personally, before I switched to full speed setups, I would’ve imagined that the only cubers to use such setups would be Chinese kids with tiny hands who drink lots of coffee. Slowly over time though, I realized that I love fast cubes. I’m 6’10” and 257 pounds. My hands are so big that I can stretch a single one all the way around a cube. People were calling me “the claw” way before Kahwi lol. Its a hindrance for all speed categories except maybe one handed. Goes to show that you can’t ever assume what setup you like. You have to try them all.

I have the rs3m 2020, 2021 and today has just arrived the super 2022 ball core version.
I can say there is not a huge difference between 2021 and 2022 but I can say some things:
2022 is more quiet, the plastic has a better quality and feel and it is really smooth. The corner cutting is like the same of the 2021, so not as good as the 2020, The logo isn't anymore a sticker so you can not remove it if you would to, but it may go away with time (I sincerly like the logo, btw).
I'm not an "ambitious" cuber like I was a lot of months ago so I gave an objective perspective on the cube.
Maybe you could buy it if you are a passionate or a moyu fan, and you are into design and feel. I like this cube just like the others but I can tell you, it is very subjective.
Maybe someone can say it sucks, but you actually find it good, so if you will buy it, don't regret, just enjoy the cube for what it is, in other words an improved version of rs3m 2021.
I subjectively recommend it.

@@i4y943 Hey, I do unfortunately have only the ball core version, I would like but I can't tell you, cause I don't have the standard one.
I've heard some say the standard version is better for some things like corner cutting and weight (it is much lighter). Yeah, the ball makes the cube unnecessarily heavy when you hold it.
I don't want to make false statements, so I'd suggest you to search some discussions online or to watch some videos (rs3m V5 is already available if you didn't know it).

@@i4y943 It's pretty cool. It's super fast. But I don't put any lube in my cube it's too much effort and I just don't care so I'm not the best person to ask. Magnets are pretty weak. And it's quite loose the way I have it now.

@@R_E_X_Edits imo the standard is best, the ball core has a weaker feeling magnet strength and is too fast at tight settings, but isnt as snappy as the maglev version. The standard is a good balance between speed, magnet strength, and corner cutting

I have the V3 Pioneer and The RS3M cubes and they are all very good, but the Pioneer is a step above and has adjustable magnets, feels more premium... You can take a look at my rushed video on them if you want but all are better than previous versions imo.

MagLev instead of springs, and a ball core with corner magnets, like the Gan 11, 12, and 13 have. It's quite a big difference, but to my knowledge, if you don't have the money, you don't need to upgrade. But, the RS3M Super is definitely better if you want to choose one or the other.
