My first and most complete experience of this boss was when it was new in the jp server, no doubt. No one knew how to fight it, and we kept struggling for over 40 minutes, but... that was the most wholesome feeling i ever got by defeating an UH boss 1st try, like we all were fighting for our lives there XD. Best OST of the game, next to Profound Darkness Phase 2, in my humble opinion xD
@@ShirovianceThey've only just added Volume 1 and 2, as well as a few of the Song Festival discs. They have the NGS tracks up to Retem but they're under the wrong attributions (SEGA instead of SEGA Sound Team).
I literally got goosebumps the first time I fought UH persona and he had a different final phase and the climax of this song kicked in I was so hype I love pso2 so much man
@@k.silverpoint Well i mean technically while people think the darkFalz Persona fight is Elmir, its not Elmir, its more ACTUAL persona than it is Elmir, sure it has Elmir's voice, but its the left over energy given form, and considering the song itself, the bosses dialogue and regrets and mannerisms and actual look being similar to a distorted Ash hunter armor set. This boss is actually just all of ACTUAL persona's Dark and negative emotions given form. so you're actually fighting Persona, Persona and not really Elmir, Elmir just became a catalytic body for it in this fight.
The first time i hear this and combining with the story literally left me crying. The verse of ' wake me mp from the dream, I want be in reality. ' it so touching once you conbine it wiht the story where they are literally reflections of the real world. Even though he know he and you are enemies, there are still sentenses that says things like' don't be dominated by the hallucination again ' to keep you going, also the showing of how much he wishes to fight alongside you and also for the real universe combined with all the great music, this is truly a masterpiece.
To be fair, this is from Episode 5 of vanilla PSO2 where the in-story stakes had gone up exponentially, while in NGS we're, what, only in Episode 1?... =P
@@thestranger2282 have to agree with op tbh. Even in episode one we were dealing with enemies that were individuals with drives and goals. Even if elder really only cared about fighting, he was still a character and a threat a player could wrap their head around. Only thing we have in ngs is big dumb DOLLs number 23, this time in w o r m f o r m e.

@@Bluelyre I mean "character" is doing a lot for Elder or anyone in EPISODE 1. It's extremely basic and uninteresting. Yeah you can wrap your head around it but that doesn't make it good. It is better than how NGS is but that's not a high bar. Not to mention I think NGS is still only on Episode 1? So still weird to compare final bosses, be them from 2 Base's Episode 1 or 5.
I feel the part of the song is Persona the First's(Bad Future MC, 'the First' used to separate them from Elmir) thoughts and the chorus is The Guardian's (Good Future MC/our character) response to them.
I personally feel like it's not sad, and more of a really interesting fight, as persona was born of a tragedy he couldn't prevent on his own, and each MC would have repeated the cycle in becoming persona, until the MC that succeeds tries to break through with the help of persona which ends up working and in turn gives persona hope again. Then when he sacrifices himself to hold back the Profound Darkness, it could be an act of hopefullness, that Mc would eventually be strong enough to bring an end to the profound Darkness. And since throughout chapter 5 and 6, persona in MC's mind is constantly testing him, and makes the fight against persona seem like a test to prove that he's finally gotten strong enough to watch 'over the universe' to prevent more tragedy's like persona

@@arginduol7060 Its actually more Persona than Elmir, going by its dialogue and appearance being similar to that of Ash's hunter armor. and its mannerism and attack patterns. Its more like ACTUAL persona rather than Elmir, its neither of them in reality, its just their distorted emotions and negative feelings melded together in a boss thats literally "Persona's Regret" You are literally fighting Persona's Sorrow which is using Elmir as a catalyst to have a body at this point.

i would say that "meteorn's song" is not as good as "over the universe" (though the way that the lyrics are sung is noticably better, no more two syllable long "gate"), but "our life, our scars" is better and is tied with "dark to light" as my favorite pso2 song

I wish they would consider releasing these tracks digitally in a much better quality. This is hands down one the best tracks in the game.
