Great list! I've been enjoying a slightly different black based list myself, mostly because I just wanted to use my shiny dorumon alts. Love the meta reads and the explanation of black base vs purple base
I've had no problem with imperialdramon so far in my testing with purple base, but I know black base does have its own benefits and definitely makes the matchup easier with protection to bounce, but its one own preference in the end
I’m a newish player who only wanted to see Alphamon succeed again. But compared to modern decks that can cheat tamers, costs, etc, etc, it sadly feels outdated. This is a cool list that I might pivot towards playing. A perfect one too, since I didn’t want to play purple base and ruin the Doru evolution theme. I’ve heeded your warning on the piloting difficulty, but I just want to play my boy! Thank you for sharing and explaining your choices! Please wish me luck!

I had already scouted this list from Egman Events website but I wasn't really sure about it. When a friend told me it was actually from you, I decided to drop my trust in it and build it in the same day I was playing for my local's Evo Cup. Although I could only finish 11th place, I blame a bit of variance and mostly my skill because the deck ran surprisingly smoothly. If I got more time to practice with it, I'm sure I'd get a better result which makes me look forward to play it more. Thank you for sharing an amazing list that compensated for my poor deck building ^^ Good luck for Nationals!

Thanks ~ Majority of the time I digivolve it as a sort of mid game/ mid range play so that we have something to do if they don't give us bodies early (without burning a dorugrey) or we need to dig for tamer I only hardplay when I have nothing else I can do and I'm desperate to unbrick. Cases of how I used it the most: Case 1: I always play out a lvl4 from dorugrey which I could then evo it into a megadra for more advantage and potentially threatening 2 lvl6s after doing a "forced swing play" Case 2: Early collision with Doruga to deny board presence, then end on evo to megadra for free advantage, if they out it, it's whatever because he did his job if not that's a potential Dorugora at any time to control board or more tamer pop Case 3: Early promote, doru to airdra to megadra that's a sudden 1-3 free tamers turn 2 which sets us up for the rest of the game

No you cannot, the idea was to do it AFTER they did a turn 2 pail and stay on him (this is the correct play for Imperial vs SOC) we follow up with a "forced Swing" into Dorugrey, then we can ace and block. Now we still get our plus 1 off dorugrey and stun anything newly called off of Davis and ken
Really interesting list, and congrats on the top dude. Are there any changes you'd consider like you see in some more typical black-base lists that run cool boy, the old BT7 Ddoru, etc?
I actually don't have any current changes that come to mind as I've already mentioned my disdain for Cool boy (non searchable, forces you to play worse card ratios, and will bottom deck your SOC tamers) Bt7 doru is a good card but his memory gain is a bit awkward, because typically you want to do a "forced swing" play which would require you to mind link first then digivolve into doruga Meaning his memory gain only came up when I was already "winning". Most importantly his on play (just like cool boy) will come up in bottom decking your SOC tamers which he's only able to mind link with one of the 3 existing SOC tamers which I found to be a big liability. TLDR: Nothing I would change for the current format, but once LM comes around Scrambles (continuous follow up, without burning a sephiroth) and most importantly Cyberdramon ACE (imperial MU becomes extra ez) are incredible additional tools coming up! You can arguably take the chikuri out if you don't think you need it as it was purely a meta call, so you can put bt7 Doru if you really like him, but I would prefer bt9 Doru instead
@johnny-l9g the first cards that come to mind are proto-form and 1 megadramon To fit 1 of each respectively. I'd ideally want to fit 2 scrambles but this will first depend on the meta, so the list may fundamentally change
I've actually had a bit of brainstorming of SOC machine, it was looking kinda decent however the unfortunate part is I found it to just be worse SOC XD Now if the new SOC chaos could just evo from a Machine we may have been in business, cause the lack of battle protection hurts :')
Played a similar list to this today in my locals win a box I've noticed I've had a much harder time against mirage then imperialdramon, was wondering what your thoughts are about that matchup. I was thinking or removing the Chukurimon's for Chumon's.
Mirage is about 50/50 from my experience, short answer is you just need to play differently. -early game just hard play some tamers or hard evo into the Dexdoruga over doruga as it's a forced minus 1 - use Yuji often when you swing to minus one yourself also - activate protoform and choose not to evo and have it go straight to trash - mulligan harder for marvin Jacksons as getting 2+ on board makes the matchup trivial - create a board state where they have to swing with bt13 Mach, and megagargo ace completely cooks Otherwise chikuri is a total flex spot which you can use to fit Chuu, but I think that will make some existing matchups worse Hope that helps~

Hypothetically you can, but then I'd go for a more OTK variant with running: 1 bt7 dorugrey 2 br17 dexdorugrey And I'd fit a 2nd yuji and eiji in there to see the combo more often What will hurt is the lack of mill and essentially running 5 (real) lvl5s as opposed to 7 so you will have much less consistency
Hi I tired your deck out today at my locals and it did really well the only deck I lost against was Magnamon x due to brick and not seeing the dex in my trash do you have any advice for this match up ?
Hi there~ That matchup is actually one of our easier ones, usually forced swing play ending on dorugrey to go straight into Dexdorugora is the key to winning the matchup, they'll never get to keep their magnaX As for any follow up armors it's as simple as a lot of de-evo which this deck can do alot of De-evo is key

I'll have a gameplay video for you guys soon! But in general it just sounds like you don't know what your kill range is. This decks kill range is 3 sec on avg, 4 if you have two lvl6s on board. So you need to do some chip damage with this deck is important as you set up for a lethal board state.
Because it was a mandatory 9 rounds And I got 2 draws during them Oddly enough I had the exact same score as the other top X-1s, they just obviously had better tie breakers than me, but unlike them I still never lost a match that day~
