The Sierra Valley is the largest alpine valley in the USA. It's incredible. I like driving through it on the way to Downieville, Sierra City and Gold Lake on Highway 49

Fun fact, Beckwourth Pass is the lowest elevation mountain pass in the Sierra Nevada Mountains......
I read the Beckwourth book.....it has enough adventure for a dozen movies. How will they pick the section to cover? It does get a bit repetative in the middle with repeated rounds of horse stealing and retribution between the Crow and Blackfoot Indians.
