- Jamaica did not secure a Paris 2024 qualifying spot for the Men’s 4x400m Relay from their participation at the World Athletics Relay in the Bahamas on May 4, 2024. As a result, the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association assembled a team to make a last chance attempt at the NACAC New Life Invitational Meet in Bahamas. In this episode of Technique Talk, coach Riley presents why he thinks this is a good move and a good enough team to get the job done.

Great analysis of those guys coach Riley! Hope you’ll be part of management to motivate them. They are capable of 2.58 certainly.
I want us to make it in the men's 4x400m. However the order and the personnel used will matter. My team would be ; Malik James- King ( with a PB of 45.2 , we ask him to give his best effort, Jevaughn Powell ( with a PB of 44.54 , all I ask of him is to replicate a 44.54 on the most challenging leg ) , Kimar Farquharson ( He has been splitting 44.38 for his college team on the third leg, all I ask is a 44.38 leg his best), And on Anchor Tarees Rhoden (He has split 44.20 on his College team this year, all I ask is for his best ). Estimated accumulated time = 45.20 + 44.54 + 44.38 + 44.20
= 2:58.32.

Going for the 15 place is a bit ambitious to run that Jamaica would have to run their twelve fastest time of all time, so the 16 place would be more reasonable. These young lions are going to have to get it done without much competition on the 2.58.55 level and that would be a big challenge.

Jamaica biggest Lost in Our recent track and field history i think would be Akeem Bloomfield, In my opinion, That is the Athlete that i think could replace Usain Bolt and even goes further, That Athlete is so talented in the 100m 200m and the 400m, What a waste, I always wonder about that Athlete, recently i saw an interview with him talking about his constant injuries and him decided to go back to school, While Schooling is very important, That is a big potential lost, His potential achievement would be second to no compering with a nine to five Job, I know that he is very brilliant Academically, But i still wonder if he did have the right people behind him to help him seen the wider picture to pursuing his track and field career, then he could ventured into other career if he still choses, As it stands, that is a big lost for Jamaica, and most of all himself, It would be nice for him to reconsider and give it a second try, Wouldn't that be nice
It is correct that we don't want our athletes to exit the sport too early. Unfortunately, injury is a big contributing factor. It is this knowledge that we should exercise great care in athletic development. Sometimes the role of the coach is to protect the athlete from him or herself because of how driven the individual is. We share your sentiments that Bloomfield's exit is a great loss to the national effort.
