Darkside Chronicles was peak RE direction. It has better storytelling than the RE2R and RE3R, it's a shame that the producers forced the developers to streamline the individual narratives

Kevin Dorman who first voiced Chris Redfield in Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles was supposed to reprise his role in Resident Evil Evil 5 but unable to because he was busy shooting in New Zealand for James Cameron's Avatar. Capcom can't wait for him to return and they recast the role to Roger Craig Smith. Kevin eventually reprised his role in Resident Evil: Vendetta and Resident Evil: Death Island. Kevin also does a mocap for Leon S. Kennedy in Resident Evil: Damnation and for Piers Nivens in Resident Evil 6.
Same. I know that the reason why he had to bulk up most likely was because of the beating he took in CV (and to differentiate him from Leon) but I really thinking that this right here was peak design for him. His CV uniform will always be my favorite.

After RE4R I really hope they remake CV, one of the things I think DC did better was Steve's personality. The orchestrated versions of CV's music in this game are incredible and I hope they use an orchestra for a remake.

I revisited CVX recently, and after being 9 years in human and cognitive psychology, I FINALLY understood what Capcom were trying to do. Just take the opening scene of Steve in both games. Claire holds Steve up with a gun to his back in DSC and Steve nearly craps his pants. In CVX, claire holds Steve up with a gun to his face, and Steve just talks her down, even being playful with her, as if he doesn't care if Claire pulls the trigger. Steve in DSC is more angry. Steve in CVX is reckless, and doesn't care what Claire thinks of him in the beginning. In DSC, Steve flirts with Claire A LOT. In CVX, Steve never unequivocally FLIRTS with Claire. Pay attention to what Steve SAYS in CVX. He even asks claire to forget about him and escape. Given that Steve is a 17 year old kid, who had EVERYTHING taken from him, due to the betrayal of the person he should've been the most reliable, in CVX, towards the beginning, a part of Steve WANTED TO DIE! But by the end, when steve said he'll protect her next time, he found purpose in life, he wanted to live. This is similar to Craig Boone from Fallout New Vegas. Something from the past haunted him so much that he wanted to die, until he meets the courier and finds new ppurpose in wanting to live. For Steve, that purpose was he started to love Claire. In his mind, he's in a place where he can't trust anyone but himself, and keeps mistreating Claire, who has been mostly nice to him despite his insults (At the start of CVX, Steve calls her incompetent, her brother unreliable, calls her soft, and even calls her fat). The thing about Steve in CVX was that he wanted to proove to himself that he is NOTHING like his father, and that OTHER PEOPLE can rely on him. For that to work, you need someone else for that equation, and that person happens to be Claire. Dude i remember being so hyped for Re6 after the first trailer cause I thought Jake Mueller was actually steve. Its stated that the Veronica virus takes 15 years to develop before you gain contol over it and it would have lined up in the timeline almost perfectly. And if wesker took him to harvest blood then theres no way he would just kill him. I like to think he is still in a test tube somewhere if capcom wants to use him for a side character or antagonistic role at some point.

To me, it says that subconsciously, maybe the RE fans are starting to realize that Game of Oblivion is SO DIFFERENT from CVX, that it's almost they are telling TWO DIFFERENT STORIES! It honestly baffles me, just how WRONG people are about Code Veronica, and what that game ACTUALLY tried to do. The BEST example is Steve's death scene in both and what the overall takeaway is from both games, and how DIFFERENT they are.

I know this is super old, but yeahhh, DSC and CV in general kind of made me dislike him, personally. Like, your little sister is CLEARLY heartbroken, and needing reassurance that you won't put yourself in danger, after someone died 'under her wing' (mind you, the FIRST time Claire's biohazard partner has died EVER) and you're like "Nah, lets go right into danger!" (at least in CV, It's a bit better in DSC)

Because originally the plan for code veronica was for leon to return in it and actually be Claire's love interest and was going to be in Steve's place and dies the same way as Steve did but when capcom found out that leon got alot of attention from the fans of how much they loved the character alot they decided to make someone almost identical to him and for leon to keep going
@@Valenfield5 None of that is true bruh. Originally it was meant to be jill, but after RE3, they changed it to continue claires story, and steve was always a standalone character. He looks nothing like leon in the orginal dreamcast game, they changed it for some reason in CVX and thats the version that stuck.
Because Steve looked like Leon at first with OG code Veronica, then they changed his hair to look different from Leon, then they made Leon’s hair a copy of his and are like stuck with it now 😭
I wish they kept steve Canadian accent from the original 😢

I know this is super old, but yeahhh, DSC and CV in general kind of made me dislike him, personally.
Like, your little sister is CLEARLY heartbroken, and needing reassurance that you won't put yourself in danger, after someone died 'under her wing' (mind you, the FIRST time Claire's biohazard partner has died EVER) and you're like "Nah, lets go right into danger!" (at least in CV, It's a bit better in DSC)
