    I love how you always show your mistakes and your success, this is how we all learn. thank you for your videos, it always makes my day when you put them out :)

      We make these videos for us as well, so we keep a record of what works and doesn’t. We happy that others can also learn from them... cause this ain’t an easy hobby 😝

    The way I wash the media is setting my carbon and GFO inside the reactor and put it into a bucket with r.o. water, let it run until water gets clear. I find it easier than rinsing the media . Reefzilla looks better than before. ✌🏼✌🏼

      Great idea! Thank you 😊 reefzilla has really improved, really happy

    Always best to read the instructions first guys 😂🤣

      Like with most guys, instructions are either half read, or left in the box 😝 😆 😂 😝 😆 😂

    How's the water trickling sound with nyos reactor? Can you hear it or is it silent?

    I have a ATS from Clearwater and after installing it I broadcast feed my corals almost 8 times a day, feed the fish 5x a day and barely keep my phosphates at .1ppm. I did run gfo before but I didn’t like paying/cleaning the gfo and short term gfo is cheaper but long term the ATS would pay for it self.

      We have a feeling our nutrients have been high for awhile and we finally beat algae in our tank. Hopefully GFO is either a short term measure til our algae reactor alone handles the phosphate, or we can ween ourselves off NoPox 😊

    I like my Nyos. Only pain is changing the media out

      I think there’s a trick to changing media, but not sure what that is... yet 😝

      @@TwoGayReefers if you figure it out let me know. I’ve had the carbon spill out into the sump a couple times lol not fun

      There’s a lug in the purple base cap and a notch in the clear cylinder. They need to be lined up for it to seal properly. Make sure no media is in the way cause that will cause it not to seal also.

    hey guys.. can you put gfo and carbon together in any "single" media reactor??.. or just the one you've bought?? TIA..

    • @TwoGayReefers
      @TwoGayReefers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any reactor as far as we know 😊

    Guys after watching this i had to order one
    Great bit of kit
    A bit of filter floss in the top and uve smashed it no flushing gfo then
    Bit pricey

    Did the alr reactor not work for you guys ??

    • @TwoGayReefers
      @TwoGayReefers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We have both running, the algae reactor has brought down our nitrates considerably 😊

      @@TwoGayReefers I’ve been running a softie coral aquarium for 9 years and have upgraded to a redsea peninsula and full ecotech gear and gen 5 blue lighting so now it’s time to upgrade corals, tried some easy lps which are doing great but with 15ppm nitrate and nearly 1ppm phos I need to implement something natural to take nitrate and phosphate down together, was going to put an alr 1 on, people say they bring both nitrates and phos down but then a lot of people you included then add some form of phos reactor or drip lanthium chloride as the reactors don’t seem to clever with phosphate reduction :) thanks for the info

    • @bopeep7806
      @bopeep7806 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im now thinking about maybe using nopox with the nyos 160 and a nyos reactor with rowaphos and leave out the algae reactor complete, don’t want to run to many more things haha, 21 sockets filled and counting haha

    • @TwoGayReefers
      @TwoGayReefers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did start with the smallest amount of cheato 😝 but I think we had a big nitrate/phosphate issue when the reefWAVE stirred up the old sand bed

      It's one of the only products I've had one of my LFSes actually talk smack about. The owner has some interesting horror stories about them when they had installed them for clients. One of the stories involved the top breaching and water gysering across the floor.

    • @TwoGayReefers

      I’m beginning to see that point of view, the top popped this morning, it should really be a screw top

    Wash your media man. You dont want that stuff in your tank for one reason or another.
