For the past months I have been learning everything about NK. Have watched almost all reputable docos on youtube and many of Yeonmi Park’s interviews. I must say that since, NK’s reality haunts me everyday. I think about those people everyday. Their suffering, deprivation of the real world and, most importantly, their helplessly silenced voices. Yeonmi is an inspiration and beautiful lady inside and out. And it makes me think of how many more beautiful people will never have the chance to even be known of their existence to the rest of the world. I pray this suffering ends soon. Seeing NK liberated during my lifetime is my biggest dream.
What scares me more, that it is an example of a long working dictatorship with no ends to be seen (like 1984) the fact that it is possible and might come to your country , scares the sh*** out of me... :/
Unfortunately because he has such an iron fist control of the country, any kind of even a hint of a revolution is basically impossible. From what I've seen on these videos, there's state police on every corner of the streets keeping a vigilant eye on every single person walking around. I surmise the moment they see anyone not basically doing exactly what they're supposed to be doing exactly the way it's supposed to be done in NK reinforcements are called immediately and those people and their family and friends "disappear". The only way any kind of revolution could possibly take place is if one is carefully planned underground without traceable communications, then a mass of humanity rise up by the hundreds of thousands all at once. It sounds impossible. Maybe it could be done. I don't know. The Chinese govt quashed Tiananmen Square and China had far more freedom and far less oppression than NK even then.
It is very interesting how the musical aesthetic is stuck between this 70s/80s funk opera big band. Also, I wonder how much freedom they have in choosing what instrument they get to play.

Trust me, it's much worse!, More like Ceausescu's RomaniaX10
@Nastasiya um....so?
I wish more people who lived through USSR times or North Korea would speak more publicily about the evils of Socialism/Communism, especially since it is starting to become the ''correct'' thing to support it in the USA now.

In 2014, I spent 6 months in that country and found it a fascinating place. And this video reminds me of performances that us few foreigners who worked there had to attend, some of which were boring but the music ones were excellent and enjoyable.
@@johnnyboy-f6v I was teaching physiology at the university in 2013 and I was enjoying my time there; honestly. There were several western professors (about 20). Some from the USA, several from Canada, a few from Aussie and NZld and one from S.Africa. and Finland (me). I got on well with my Korean colleagues, although on some occasion I 'blew my mind' and told them after the xth electricity cut "nothing works here". On one occasion we discussed with English-speaking students (only young men taller than 170 cm are allowed into English classes) whether it was wise to send rockets into space, if the result is more embargos, trade restrictions etc by theUSA. And the result was: "We are an independent country; not a colony of the USA"! They are right, aren't they?

Yes, I am aware, these people live under a ruthless dictatorship. But I like the North Korean music style more than the South Korean.
And north koreanesses are more beautiful
Agree with both points stated on this comment section
am asian and we had music like this too. But it more of the older generation who listened to it while the younger generation are into techno or hip hop
Yeah North Korea is much better at music
@@eraittousenpai better it more of a opinion. My parents would like these kind of music while we the other hands like pop hip hop and rap and bass. North korea music it just have a pleasing sound something of a older people would like because it have no bass just a pleasing sound to go to sleep.

Same
Yeonmi Park is a fraud.
Such talented musicians..
It’s a shame they can’t write about other topics besides the regime.
Let’s hope North Korea is free soon!
The Mig19 in the back is a nice touch
It is very interesting how the musical aesthetic is stuck between this 70s/80s funk opera big band. Also, I wonder how much freedom they have in choosing what instrument they get to play.
It just makes me feel like ditching democracy and embrace an oppressive regime!
it sooo does tho ngl

I kept looking for that one audience member out of sync with the clapping. Which would have been a deep symbol actually. Thanks for your channel Y.P.
I understand the context of this song, but god damn this slaps for some reason
The audience is clapping for their life.
The audience looks pissed and the singers looked scared, but the music reminded me of like a villain from lupin the third, I wish the lyrics were about their dictator cause it’s catchy 🤣
This so crazy ... how sad for these people, they are so brainwashed
You have no choice but to follow him, one day you will be free. There’s a saying in my country that says that evil doesn’t last more than a hundred years.

1:09 she’s literally going to cry at any second. I wish I knew how to help them this is gross. Even the abuse I’m sure they’ve gone through aside, In the same country people are starving to death and using beer bottles as IVs like how is this real? I hope North Korea is freed in our lifetime
One simple thing. I am not against North Korea's freedom (Allah willing, as soon as possible) but two small things are that North Koreans never think their lives are hell by thinking that they live in the best country in history, and Koreans love the Kim family very much because they think they are great and again she smiles and not from Obviously she really wants to cry
She doesn't feel like crying to me tbh, she seems more like she's fed up with that whole situation lmao she knows that all of it is bullshit, just like the army of men in the audience. Which gives some hope, at least they're not brainwashed, they're just opressed, so there might be a chance for them to revolt and free themselves someday
Thank You, You were the best crowd!
I mean, even i got those goosebumps while listening to this, no doubt the north korean people are getting brain washed with the help of these kind of lyrics. The song was so catchy!
Hate the lyrics, but got love that tune, (melody) catchy as hell North Korea got some songwriters! 😂😂

So nice of the audience to rehearse a synchronized clap. Only in NK do you get everyone in the room preforming.
Thank you for providing the translation. I’ve been so curious on the lyrics. It’s kind of surreal knowing the truth about the Kims.

The fact that this is reality in 2024 is disturbing. These people need to be freed from their chains
Well, the women are very talented. Voices and instrumental. The music was surprisingly good and more modern than I expected. But it was spooky how every man clapped in perfect time with each other. And they did not look happy
