    Hello Sir,
A tenant has been renting a room in my Building since 2009, starting at a rent of 3,500 rupees and increasing by 250 rupees each year. Their current rent is 6,500 rupees. Considering the current market value and increasing expenses, can I raise the rent to 10,000 rupees in 2024?

You have to file a petition for fixation of fair rent under section 5 of the Rent Control Act.

Better dont make an agreement and ask them to run the shop in your name and license. Hope this works .

This can be done, but there are risks involved. So the contract is to be very clear and specific. This is possible only if you have one or two buildings to let out. Where there are many buildings you cannot resort to such practices.

Rent admitted means rent found by the Court to be due .. Am I right?

No. That is after adjudication. Admitted rent is rent admitted by the tenant.
