The Swedish part is the Lord's Prayer in Swedish.

This is from the Carolus Rex Album that covers the rise and fall of the Swedish Empire under Charles XII (Carolus Rex) and was released in both Swedish and English versions, sometimes with different lyrics (specifically "En Livstid I Krig" / "A Lifetime at War"). "Long Live the King" is about the fears of the Swedish people after Carolus was killed in battle (and the controversy over which side fired the fatal bullet) and the death and funeral procession of Carolus. The Carolean's Prayer is about the soldiers in the army that fought and died for Carolus Rex and their Lutheran religion. Great reaction and discussion, stay safe, God Bless, and keep rocking.

Well the rise of the Swedish Empire was with Gustav II Adolf (Gustavus Adolphus). The Caroleans's Prayer can apply to the soldiers of Charles XI too, The father of Carolus Rex the one that created the Caroleans.

The swedish part is the lords prayer and when it fades out in the end it's supposed to symbolise the swedish army reciting the prayer as they march for battle

    Hakkaa päälle!
Our Finnish Hakkapeliter were part of The European Tour of Carolus Rex, as we were included in the kingdom at those times.
On my younger years my favourite night club in my home town of Helsinki was "Kaarle XII" aka Kalle.
Thank You for these reactions, and Long LIve The King! (Even as we are a republic nowadays...)

The caroleans actually thought that God already had decided every mans faith and if God decided it was their time it was nothing they could do about it so they did literally put their lives in God's hands marching straight thru the volleys until they saw the whites in the enemies eyes.
The Swedish part was The Lord's Prayer.

🇫🇮❤you & your reactions/discussions, but even if Sabaton's 2012 "Carolus Rex" album is among their top three studio albums, for me these two songs are just mediocre Sabaton.

@@tarmotyyri6733 At the risk of getting bRRRRutally slaughtered, I dare say that Sabaton is rather mediocre in general. I appreciate the effort and see what they're going for, but the execution falls short for me. The "pop-metal" sound might be appealing to the broader audience - but not to me, - and the lyrics... I'll keep silent on this one. :)
Also, I'm not exactly impressed by Joakim his singing. I think he's on pair with Till Lindemann: both are big dudes with deep ass baritone, huge lungs and decent breath control due to having been professional swimmers. Both have what some perceive as badass stage presence and bRRRRutal voices, fitting for their kind of music - and that's about it. I find it weird that they have Tommy Johansson on the gutarrrr, but he rarely opens his mouth with Sabaton. It feels about as fair as, let say, if Floor Jansen played the keyboards and sang backup to (Darwin forgive me) Tuomas. But I guess, his tenor voice and his babyface are not bRRRRutal enough to be the frontman. :)
Don't take any of this too seriously, it's half-rant/half-joke.😂

@@noneofyerbeeswax8194 🤣🤣🤣 Sabaton is one of my favourite bands (with Nightwish), but this cracked me up. You have a point with Tommy and Floor comparison (though the idea of Tuomas singing is hilarious 😂). I do believe though , that for Sabaton, as a band who is singing about military history, Joakim is a perfect frontman, because he looks and sounds like a drill sergeant, which makes him more convincing. Not sure if you know, but Tommy fronts his own band, Majestica (called ReinXeed before), a band he started 20 years ago and that suits his style of singing much better than Sabaton, though his latest cover of Christmas Truce is absloutely beautiful

    • @noneofyerbeeswax8194
      @noneofyerbeeswax8194 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@marinamucic908 I agree that Joakim is perfect for Sabaton, just like Till is perfect for Rammstein. But still, he's mainly the keyboardist just filling in while they're looking for a permanent singer. :)
      Yes, I know about Majestica.
Tuomas did sing on the first album (but I'm sure you know it). There are a few bootleg recordings from the early years where he sings LIVE. That's quite hilarious.
He learned the lesson and never opened his mouth again.🤣
